The Polish Post Corporate Foundation is expressing solidarity with war-torn Ukraine. On March 4th, the first truckload of in-kind aid for Ukrainian Post employees began its journey. The aid, worth over PLN 224,000, comes from the "Postal Gift" Foundation, entities within the Polish Post Group, and companies affiliated with Polish Post.
By organizing the transport of gifts for Ukrainian postal workers, Poczta Polska and the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation want to help people who, despite the very difficult situation in the country, remained in place and, to the extent possible, carry out their duties in the care of Ukrainian citizens for whom shipments, including shipments of gifts, are important.
Postal trucks carrying the most essential items for Ukrainian postal workers today, including candy bars, canned meats, juices, powdered milk and mousses for children, hygiene and disinfectant products, wipes, mats, sleeping bags, blankets, and canvas stretchers, have set off.
The value of the donations sent exceeds PLN 224,000, with nearly PLN 181,000 purchased from the Postal Gift corporate foundation's own funds, contributions from Poczta Polska Group entities, and contributions from Poczta Polska employees. The remaining donations came from companies collaborating with Poczta Polska: ekobieca, MEKEUP, Avanti, Publimar Meat and Cold Meat Distribution Center, Polfa Tarchomin, and Babymam.
"The Pocztowy Dar (Postal Gift) Foundation supports the most important social initiatives, engaging Poczta Polska (Polish Post) employees and entities from the Poczta Polska group. We rose to the occasion during the coronavirus pandemic, supporting hospitals and seriously ill employees and their loved ones. Now we are helping our brothers and sisters in their country, whose country is facing a terrible war that is devastating both the country and its people. By organizing this aid campaign, we want to do something for them that we can influence, to show them empathy and simple human kindness," says Bogusława Agnieszka Kłoda-Dębska, president of the Pocztowy Dar (Postal Gift) Foundation.
As part of its ongoing efforts to support Ukraine, the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation has also launched a sub-account to collect funds for aid for our neighbors. Funds deposited to this account have been used to purchase items for Ukrainian postal workers. Funds are still being collected for further aid efforts 36 1320 1104 3014 4239 2000 0005.
The foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all those who, together with "Pocztowy Dar," support war-stricken Ukraine and its people. Helping others is the greatest and most beautiful sign of our humanity.
