From October 10th to 18th of this year, a unique, nationwide running project organized by Poczta Polska (Polish Post) took place. Everyone is a winner – those who ran, often facing their own weaknesses, and those for whom this race represents a chance to fulfill their dreams and develop their athletic abilities. Participating in the Poczta Polska Virtual Run, in addition to promoting a healthy lifestyle and athletic competition, meant, above all, providing real support to the beneficiaries of the Pocztowy Dar Foundation – small, local sports clubs.
The Polish Post Virtual Run attracted a large number of people of good will who eagerly supported the event and joined in helping young athletes from small towns. A total of 1,407 people participated in this great cause of helping through running. Each of these individuals has a great reason to be proud – we are officially announcing that thanks to the Polish Post Virtual Run, the Pocztowy Dar Foundation's account will be credited with PLN 13,974, of which PLN 7,035 comes from entry fees, and almost as much – PLN 6,939 – comes from voluntary contributions from race participants.
Now that the excitement surrounding the competition has subsided, we will begin providing comprehensive assistance to the beneficiaries of the Pocztowy Dar Foundation. All of this funding will be used to promote sports activities among children and youth in small towns, combat social exclusion, and support young sports talent. By implementing a program aimed at school clubs in small towns, the Foundation will provide organizational and financial support, including by purchasing essential sports equipment damaged by accidents.
We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who ran with Poczta Polska, our Partners, and all people of good will for their enormous commitment, help, and support. Thanks to you, we will be able to help young athletes fulfill their dreams by putting into practice the words of the great educator Janusz Korczak – "A child wants to be good. If they can't do it, teach it. If they don't know it, explain it. If they can't do it, help them."
