Recently, the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation received a special award from the Director of the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center in Białystok – the "Golden Drop." This special distinction was awarded for its contribution to saving human health and lives during the coronavirus epidemic.
"This is a great honor and distinction for us. We are pleased to have been able to support the Regional Blood and Blood Collection Center (RCKiK) during this very difficult time for all of us. The immunoassay analyzer, which was purchased for the Center thanks to our support, will help treat many patients, both young and old, not only during the coronavirus epidemic. On the day of our visit to Białystok, we all received wonderful news about the recovery of a seriously ill 8-year-old girl from Poznań, who quickly overcame the virus, thanks in part to utilizing the capabilities of this modern device," said Agnieszka Kłoda-Dębska, President of the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation.
As a reminder, the "Postal Gift" Foundation recently purchased specialized medical equipment, a so-called immunological analyzer, which was donated to the Regional Blood Donation and Treatment Center in Białystok. Funds for this purchase came from companies within the Poczta Polska Group – Bank Pocztowy, PTUW (Postal Mutual Insurance Company), PTUnŻ (Postal Life Insurance Company), PPUC (Polish Post Digital Services), Pocztylion – Arka PTE, POSTDATA, PAUF (Postal Financial Services Agency), the Insurance Settlement Center, and individual donors. We sincerely thank them all.

This is the only device of its kind in the country, owned by regional blood donation and blood therapy centers. It will process patients and samples from donors across Poland. The analyzer can accurately determine the level of anti-SARS-CoV-IgA and anti-SARS-CoV-IgG antibodies in blood plasma from recovered patients, allowing the preparation of appropriate doses of therapeutic plasma for COVID-19 patients. The Regional Blood Donation and Blood Therapy Center in Białystok is preparing such preparations for patients in infectious diseases hospitals across the country.
