1% for a foundation that leaves no one in need
The Postal Corporate Foundation was established 10 years ago. Since 2012, it has held the status of a public benefit organization. Each year, it primarily helps numerous postal workers who, without its support, would be unable to effectively combat illness or other adversities. Funds for this purpose are raised through, among other sources, 1% of your tax. It's not too late to support the Foundation in this way.
Help, care and hope
In accordance with its statutory objectives, "Pocztowy Dar" supports, among others, individuals facing difficult life circumstances due to health conditions. They lack the resources to benefit from paid rehabilitation, improve their health during a rehabilitation trip, purchase a specialized wheelchair, a special bed, or other medical equipment that facilitates daily life or patient care, or purchases unreimbursed, expensive medications and diagnostic tests. The foundation also helps victims of fires and other natural disasters. It also provides care for all children orphaned by Polish Post employees (social scholarships for school-age children).
The assistance provided by the Postal Foundation—due to the number of applications and the resources available to the Postal OPP—does not always fully meet the needs of people in difficult life situations. However, "Pocztowy Dar" provides them with something just as important as money—it treats everyone with care and attention. Although our Foundation's work relies primarily on volunteer work, it never leaves anyone without help or a response. Help isn't always immediately available, but sometimes more important than hope is the belief that we are not alone in facing overwhelming problems.
Donations and 1%
The Foundation obtains funding for its activities from several sources. Throughout the year, funds are transferred to its account from its Founders (Poczta Polska and its subsidiaries, i.e., Poczta Polska Group), donors who deposit money into the Foundation's account and into collection boxes available at selected post offices ("Share a złoty, children's health"), and from Poczta Polska employees who regularly contribute funds through the "Złotówka od Salsji" (Polish Zloty from Your Salary) campaign. Once a year, funds from a 1% tax donation are also transferred to the Foundation's account. All funds donated in this way are used to help those in need.
To support the Foundation by donating 1% of your tax, simply enter its KRS number in your PIT (0 0 0 0 3 7 0 2 1 6) . If you file your tax return using Your e-PIT service (a tax return prepared by the Tax Office) and would like to support the postal Foundation for the first time this year, you must submit an amendment to your tax return after April 30th. This year, you can submit your PIT (PIT-37) by May 30th this year without any consequences.
Let's remember that every złoty we donate makes a huge difference. The "Złotówka od Salsji" campaign, for example, demonstrates this. The same mechanism operates with 1% donations – a snowball that grows larger as more people join the campaign and want to share.
