The Polish Post Office cultivates Easter tradition with a festive stamp
On March 20, Poczta Polska introduced the "Easter" issue postage stamp into circulation. The multi-million-piece stamp was distributed to post offices across the country. This unique stamp is also available for purchase in Poczta Polska's online philatelic store.
This year's issue was created using a photograph of a fragment of the seventeenth-century main altar panel located in the Church of St. George in Dzierżoniów. The colorful bas-relief depicts the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. The new stamp is complemented by a limited edition First Day of Circulation envelope, designed by Jarosław Ochendzan. The background of the envelope features a photograph of Easter eggs dyed using the dyeing method. The Easter philatelic issue also includes a commemorative date stamp, featuring the Lamb of God, symbolizing the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.
A historic church featured in the Easter stamp design
St. George's Church is the oldest religious monument in Dzierżoniów, inextricably linked to the city's history. According to urban legend, the church was built in 1159 on the orders of Duke Bolesław the Curly. The first certain mention of the church dates back to 1258.
The church's interior reflects Mannerism, Baroque, and Classicism. In 1719, construction began on a new main altar. The Christological altarpiece was complemented by a Marian altarpiece. An altarpiece of the Virgin Mary with side wings was placed in front of the Savior's altar.

In 2019, the company also issued stamps highlighting the uniqueness of Kashubian Easter rituals .
