The Polish Cultural Ambassador is featured on an anniversary stamp. Poczta Polska celebrates 75 years of the "Mazowsze" Ensemble.

In the festive atmosphere of the 75th anniversary of the Mazowsze Folk Song and Dance Ensemble, Poczta Polska introduced a stamp dedicated to the native cultural heritage that the ensemble's members have cultivated and promoted since 1948. Over the years, they have also gained international recognition as one of the world's largest artistic groups.

In this sheet of five stamps, the designer, Roch Stefaniak, depicts one of the dancers of the "Mazowsze" ensemble in picturesque folk costume. The sheet is complemented by a tag bearing the logo of the ensemble's 75th anniversary celebrations.

Along with the issue, the Company also issued a First Day of Circulation (FDC) envelope featuring a colorful graphic of "Mazowsze" dancing on stage, accompanied by a symphony orchestra. The philatelic publication is complemented by a date stamp depicting a pair of dancers.

The Heritage of the "Mazowsze" Ensemble

For 75 years, "Mazowsze" has been promoting Polish folklore through musical performances incorporating elements of music and dance. It is an undeniable element of Polish cultural heritage. It serves not only as an artistic ensemble but also as a significant promoter of the richness of Polish folk traditions. Its performances showcase the richness of regional traditions conveyed through colorful costumes, the sounds of folk instruments, and energetic dances.

The work of "Mazowsze" is an expression of patriotism. It highlights the beauty of Polish culture, while building a bond between contemporary society and tradition, inspiring people to cultivate their roots and foster a sense of national pride.

This is not the first initiative promoting the activities of the "Mazowsze" Ensemble

In June of this year, Poczta Polska began the official celebration of the founding of the "Mazowsze" Ensemble by issuing the first commemorative card in the "75 Mazowsze Ambassador of Polish Culture" issue. The graphic featured in the card's design depicted a pair of dancers from the "Mazowsze" ensemble.

In 2022, the Company introduced a greeting card entitled "Family Picnic with the Mazowsze Team", which it had the pleasure of presenting at the philatelic stand during a picnic held in the historic Karolin Park in Otrębusy.

It's worth mentioning that in 2017, the "Mazowsze Śpiewnik Kolęd i Pastorałek" (Mazowsze Songbook of Christmas Carols and Pastorals), sold exclusively through Poczta Polska's network of branches, achieved Gold Record status. This distinction means that Poczta Polska has sold at least 15,000 copies of the album through its own sales network.
