Safe Polish Post – AED defibrillators available at branches and logistics centers
Poczta Polska (Polish Post) is providing automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in 40 locations. The devices are available in 18 post offices, including those in Warsaw, Białystok, Krakow, Lublin, and Toruń. Another 22 defibrillators have been installed in the Shipping and Distribution Departments and Units, where the largest number of employees work.
World Heart Day 2025 was celebrated on September 29th. However, awareness of the importance of a quick response in life-threatening situations, such as when someone unconscious and experiencing sudden cardiac arrest, is important year-round. For Poczta Polska, the safety of its customers and employees is a matter of primary responsibility.
AEDs are installed in public areas, most often in customer service areas. The devices are intuitive and easy to use. Once activated, they issue clear voice commands that guide the user step-by-step through the emergency procedure.
" AEDs aren't a symbol. They're a real tool that can save lives. The devices operate automatically and analyze the injured person's heart rhythm. This means that even a person without medical training can effectively provide aid before an ambulance arrives. Every minute counts, and the availability of defibrillators in public spaces truly increases the safety of all of us, " says Arkadiusz Pokrywka, Director of Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Protection at Poczta Polska.
Poczta Polska (Polish Post) prioritizes safety. Each post office has a first aid kit and a designated person trained in first aid. The company has also launched its own training program, which has so far benefited 1,600 employees.
The statistics are clear: a quick response within 2–3 minutes of sudden cardiac arrest increases the chance of survival by up to 60%.
Therefore, it's important to know where the nearest defibrillator is—and not be afraid to act.
