BohaterON – campaign for the insurgents
The fourth edition of the "HeroON – Turn on History!" campaign is upon us. Poczta Polska has once again joined the project honoring Warsaw's heroes.
BohaterON – Turn on History! is a nationwide historical campaign aimed at commemorating and honoring the participants of the Warsaw Uprising and the history of Poland in the 20th century. The project aims to educate Poles based on the stories of the insurgents, strengthen their sense of national identity, foster patriotic attitudes, and build social awareness.
For the fourth time, anyone wishing to honor a participant in the fight for the capital can do so by sending a card or letter as part of the campaign, which runs from August 1st to October 2nd. Organizers encourage people to make a card or write a letter and send it to the Sensoria Foundation. You can also write a free postcard to an insurgent via the website www.BohaterON.pl . Postcards completed online will be printed and, along with the cards and letters submitted to the Sensoria Foundation, delivered to the recipients in traditional mail after the campaign concludes.
The Warsaw Uprising is remembered as one of the most important events shaping Polish identity. It embodied key principles such as patriotism, freedom, and determination to resist enemies. In today's world, it is increasingly difficult to remember and respect Poland's history. The pervasive loss of fundamental values overwhelms us at every turn. The mottos of God, Honor, and Fatherland, so obvious to our ancestors, are beginning to lose their meaning. The Polish Post Office upholds these mottos and, through its activities, aims to restore their presence in the everyday lives of every Pole. It is on the tradition of our heroic ancestors that we should build the present and the future of young generations of Polish patriots.
