Every third parcel collection point is available to residents of small towns and villages
Poczta Polska offers the largest network of parcel collection points in the country, with over 35% of the points located in small towns and rural areas. By the end of 2022, Poczta Polska will open another 5,000 points. Customers ordering goods from online stores are increasingly using this method of collection. Over 20% of parcels are collected at these points, and the importance of this form of delivery will grow significantly in the future.
Poczta Polska is systematically expanding its network of parcel collection points, in line with its strategy for 2021-2023, which includes expanding into additional areas of the country for parcel delivery and increasing its share in the CEP (courier, express, and parcel) market. Considering the comfort and needs of customers living outside urban areas who shop online, the company is interested in systematically expanding its network of parcel collection points, including in small towns and rural areas.
" Consumers are changing their shopping habits, increasingly buying online and expecting the convenience of collecting parcels close to home. This also applies to customers from smaller towns. To meet their needs, Poczta Polska is establishing partnerships with business partners, working intensively to expand Poland's largest network of parcel collection points, which currently handles one in five online parcels, " says Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
In the first half of this year, over 20% of Poczta Polska customers' online purchases were collected at collection points. Postal workers predict that next year, the share of parcels collected at collection points and automated parcel machines will increase to 30%.
Currently, Poczta Polska customers have over 15,000 parcel collection points at their disposal, both within the country's largest network and through partner networks: Żabka, Orlen, RUCH, Biedronka, ABC, Lewiatan, and Delikatesy Centrum. By the end of 2022, this number will increase to 20,000.
35% of the entire network of collection points is located in small towns with a population of less than 20,000 (approx. 17%) and in rural areas (approx. 18%), most of which include post offices and Eurocash group stores (ABC, Lewiatan and Delikatesy Centrum).
It's worth noting that Poczta Polska will also provide another 2,000 parcel machines by the end of 2022, complementing its extensive network of parcel collection points. To this end, the company is seeking attractive locations, which can be submitted via the form available here.
To improve customer service for receiving and sending parcels, over 700 post offices now have fast truck windows marked "Paczk@ w punkt" (Parcel at the Point) where customers can efficiently pick up their parcel using the Pick-Up at the Point option and send it (using the Envelo digital platform, the "Electronic Sender" system, or the "Nadaj działkę" (Send a Parcel) app). At the Paczka@ w punkt window, you can also conveniently send parcels without having to print your own address label or return a purchase that wasn't a good choice.
