Cybersecurity at Poczta Polska – new systems and strengthened data protection
Poczta Polska is part of the country's security and resilience system, therefore placing cybersecurity at the forefront of its priorities. In response to rapidly evolving threats and the growing number of cyberattacks, the national operator is undertaking a number of initiatives aimed at eliminating technological debt, strengthening data protection, and ensuring service continuity.
Achieving these goals would not have been possible without ongoing modernization and updates. These include changes to solutions designed to detect and prevent cyberattacks, such as migrating the firewall to a modern environment, disabling outdated IPS probes in favor of NextGeneration solutions, and implementing an email "sandbox" service to protect against malware. Furthermore, by implementing access minimization policies and multi-factor authentication (MFA), Poczta Polska has significantly increased the security of its IT infrastructure.
Technology isn't everything
At Poczta Polska, significant emphasis is placed on education and raising awareness of cybersecurity among employees. Regular training, quizzes, and the distribution of knowledge-raising publications, such as the biweekly "Cyberix," published by CERT Poczta Polska, are key to building a security culture and preparing staff to identify potential threats, such as phishing and ransomware attacks.
Secure e-Delivery
One of the key digital projects underway at Poczta Polska is the implementation of e-Delivery. This system digitizes registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt. Today, every Pole can set up a free e-Delivery mailbox and receive registered mail almost as quickly and easily as email, but much more securely. However, the challenges associated with ensuring security are even greater.
Poczta Polska sets digital security standards for e-Delivery. It utilizes advanced cryptographic mechanisms that ensure the integrity of parcel content, supported by TLS encryption. Furthermore, a dedicated team monitors system security 24/7. This ensures that information sent between the sender and recipient is secure and inaccessible to third parties. Users can rest assured that their data is protected according to the highest security standards.
