Gift of young people on the postage stamp
The most beautiful Polish sailing ship - "Dar Młodzieży" was presented on the postage stamp. Poczta Polska commemorated the cruise that the sailing ship took on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Poland regaining independence. A stamp worth PLN 3.30 will go to circulation on March 28 this year.
The author of the stamp published on the occasion of the Independence Cruise is Jarosław Ochandzan. A watercolor by Andrzej Filipowicz is shown in the stamp. "Dar Młodzieży" with full sails flows against the background of modern skyscrapers. The stamp will be released in a circulation of 180 thousand. pieces.
Nearly 1,000 young people from all over Poland took part in the Independence Cruise around the world. They visited 22 ports located in nineteen countries. They were a kind of Polish ambassadors in all places. "Dar Młodzieży" nailed to the ports of Copenhagen, Bordeaux, Dakar, Cape Town, Jakarta, Singapore, Osaki, Los Angeles and London. The message of the Independence Cruise was: "Tell the world how Poland is beautiful." Participation in the World Youth Day in Panama, chaired by Pope Francis. The sailing ship set off on this extraordinary journey in May 2018, and will return to the port of Gdynia on March 28 this year.
