The Polish Post Foundation organizes an unusual run and supports children with neurodevelopmental difficulties

On September 9th, the Polish Post Foundation "Pocztowy Dar" (Postal Gift) is organizing a charity run in four Polish cities: Bydgoszcz, Krakow, Gdansk, and Katowice. A week later, on September 17th, the run will also take place in the Warsaw area. All proceeds from entry fees will be donated to therapeutic activities for children diagnosed with neurodevelopmental difficulties and their families. Additional attractions are planned for participants – both competitors and fans.

The run will begin at 11:11 a.m. in all locations. The time is not accidental. It is estimated that 1% of the population is on the autism spectrum. "Pocztowy Dar" (Post Gift) wants to support therapy for children with this disorder, as well as those diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome or ADHD.

The race will be 5 km long, but each participant will be able to stop at any time using the mobile "untypical finish line." By introducing this rule, the Foundation aims to raise awareness that what is easy for neurotypical individuals can sometimes be a significant challenge for people with neurodevelopmental disorders.

Participants in the race are adults and youth over 12 years of age (with a legal guardian). The Foundation also invites cheering runners to participate.

Funds to support children with neurodevelopmental disorders will come from donations made to the Foundation in the form of entry fees. As with the finish line, there are no set entry fees. The minimum fee for the starter package, which includes a bib number, t-shirt, backpack/sack, 4MOVE drink, and gadgets, is 30 PLN. Participants can, however, support the "Pocztowy Dar" (Post Gift) with a larger donation.

Participating in the event also means a variety of additional attractions for competitors and fans. These include the opportunity to tour the Wieliczka Salt Mine (for a fee) and use the graduation tower (the largest facility of its kind in southern Poland), a children's corner (group painting, stamp coloring, physical activities, including a warm-up for the youngest), and fire truck demonstrations. Each location will also feature a National Health Fund (NFZ) and Polish Post Office (Poczta Polska) stand. At the former, event participants will be able to take advantage of free tests (body weight, BMI, body composition) and advice (preventive programs, testing schedule). At the latter, merchandise and philatelic items will be available.

You can register for the races online until September 7th for Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Katowice, and Kraków, and until September 14th for Warsaw . After these dates, anyone interested in participating can do so at the registration desks. The more people who participate, the more children the Foundation will be able to cover therapy costs.

More information about the untypical RUN can be found on the website of the Pocztowy Dar Foundation and its Facebook profile .

The partners of all events are: TVP Sport, TVP3, PKP Group Foundation, Apaczka, Foodcare, 4MOVE and Poczta Polska.

The "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation is the corporate foundation of Poczta Polska. For 13 years, it has been helping those in need, including by providing assistance to Poczta Polska Group employees and their families. Holiday parcels, scholarships for orphaned children, and support for rehabilitation and treatment are just some of the forms of assistance it organizes. Support also extends to individuals who, due to unforeseen events such as fires, gas explosions, or storms, sometimes lose their entire life's possessions. The Foundation also supports projects of non-governmental organizations involved in healthcare, among other areas. During the pandemic, it has been extensively involved in providing assistance to hospitals and other medical facilities. It has also organized a number of humanitarian aid shipments for residents of Ukraine.
