Information regarding the use of the name Netherlands
In accordance with information received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we would like to inform you about the rules for using the name Netherlands.
The official name of the country, "Kingdom of the Netherlands," has not been changed. In October 2019, the government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands decided to "rebrand" the country as part of its new tourism strategy, calling on Dutch institutions, universities, offices, and embassies to use exclusively the English form "the Netherlands" in international relations as of January 1st of this year. This decision is merely an internal instruction and does not involve an appeal to other countries to adapt to this change. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and central government offices are obligated to use their official names.
In connection with the above, we would like to inform you that Poczta Polska will continue to use the name Holland in official contacts.
