How to order Christmas gifts online?

pp_2The pandemic is driving online shopping, and especially now, in the run-up to the holidays, speed and convenience of delivery are crucial for customers. Poczta Polska has prepared a list of tips to make shopping easier and ensure delivery meets expectations.

"Don't delay ordering gifts from online stores; it's best to do it as soon as possible and have a peaceful Christmas. The later you buy a gift, the more carefully you should read how many days the online store needs to ship the package," advises Justyna Siwek, spokesperson for Poczta Polska. " Poczta Polska provides safe and convenient parcel delivery options. Customers can choose between courier delivery or collecting their parcel from one of over 13,000 collection points located in Żabka stores, Orlen gas stations, and parcel machines in selected Biedronka stores, " adds Justyna Siwek.

Top tips for online shoppers:

Check the processing time – it often takes 1 to 5 business days for an order to be ready for shipping through an online store. This time frame should include the time it takes the postal operator to deliver the order, which depends on the type of shipment.

Check the address for accuracy – providing the correct delivery address is crucial. Even the slightest error in the address can result in non-delivery and return to sender. The Polish Post has a list of postal codes – it's worth making sure you're entering the correct code.

Contact number – for parcel and courier shipments, if you provide a phone number before delivery, you will receive the courier's contact number. You can obtain information about the estimated delivery time from the courier or arrange pickup.

Prefer "Pick-up at a Point" – check if you can use the "Pick-up at a Point" option. You decide when and where to pick up your order. Poczta Polska offers the largest network of over 13,000 pickup points. In addition to its own post offices, these include Żabka stores, PKN Orlen gas stations, RUCH kiosks and newsstands, as well as parcel machines in Biedronka, Lewiatan stores, and post offices. A detailed list of pickup points can be found at obiewpunktcie.poczta-polska.pl .

Free yourself from a single address – if you prefer courier delivery, provide the delivery address where you spend the longest time during the day, e.g. your workplace or another selected point closest to your current location.

Receive your parcel securely with a PIN – simply enter your phone number or email address to receive a code to give to the courier before delivery. This is especially important for reducing the risk of coronavirus infection. The PIN will allow you to collect your parcel from the courier and from the pickup point.

Pay securely – we encourage you to use online payments when shopping online – it's currently the most recommended and safest solution. For cash-on-delivery payments, we recommend cashless payments, such as by card or BLIK.

Notify household members – if the shipment is to be delivered to your home, advise household members to be prepared to receive it in your absence.

If you are in quarantine , Poczta Polska delivers parcels and courier items to individuals in quarantine. If delivery is impossible, these items will not be notified and will be held at the post office until the quarantine period ends. Delivery will be attempted after the quarantine period ends.

Follow the safety rules – when receiving a parcel directly from the courier, remember to follow the safety rules, cover your nose and mouth and keep your distance.

You have the right to return goods – you can easily return them to the online store. Information regarding e-returns is available on the Poczta Polska . According to regulations, most goods (except food) can be returned within 14 days. Some stores extend the returns period; it's worth reviewing their detailed terms and conditions.
