Already 12,700 users have e-mail accounts
During the pandemic, Poczta Polska expanded its portfolio with new products available digitally and introduced numerous solutions enabling safe receipt of its services. Within the first two months, 12,700 users expressed interest in using the newly launched e-mail service.
The pandemic has proven that Poczta Polska can efficiently respond to the needs of a changing reality, providing recipients with new, immediately necessary solutions. With safety protocols in place to reduce the risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection, the company has introduced a suite of online services, as well as numerous solutions enabling retail and business customers to safely receive parcels and fulfill orders. Many of these digital improvements will be permanently incorporated into Poczta Polska's portfolio.
A key digital solution available on the platform and launched by Poczta Polska during the pandemic is eSkrzynka – a service that allows customers to collect correspondence without leaving home. Registered mail is digitized and made available to customers in an online mailbox, while maintaining all security and confidentiality standards for e-mail correspondence. An eSkrzynka can be set up online using a trusted profile. In accordance with applicable regulations, the solution supports registered mail, excluding mail sent by courts and tribunals, prosecutors' offices and court bailiffs, and law enforcement agencies – if marked "Not subject to digitization" by the sender. In just two months since the relaunch of eSkrzynka, 12,700 users have already used this service.
On the poczta-cyfrowa.pl platform, the Company has integrated most of the services distributed across the entire Poczta Polska Capital Group, enabling easy and secure access to the offer online.
Through the poczta-cyfrowa.pl platform, customers can: register to send a parcel, purchase an e-stamp, send an e-card, browse the online philatelic shop and Poczta Polska e-shop, order a newspaper subscription, and use banking and insurance services. The Poczta Polska platform also offers the ability to request an electronic delivery notice, have correspondence sent to a specified address, and have correspondence stored at a post office for up to four weeks. Poczta-cyfrowa.pl also offers the ability to create a trusted profile, necessary for reporting matters that, for security reasons, require confirmation of the customer's identity.
In terms of traditional deliveries, which are still being carried out by Poczta Polska during the pandemic, the Company has introduced preventive solutions aimed at ensuring the safety not only of customers but also of employees.
On April 22, 2020, due to changes in the Postal Law, the Company implemented new guidelines for the delivery of registered letters, parcels, and courier shipments. The first is the delivery of registered letters directly to the recipient's mailbox. Due to applicable regulations, this delivery method does not apply to shipments sent by courts and prosecutors' offices, among others. Changes have been made to enable contactless collection of such correspondence. For security reasons, Poczta Polska customers can receive registered letters without the traditional receipt. Instead of a signature, it is sufficient to present an ID document, such as an ID card, passport, or driver's license, to a Poczta Polska employee from a safe distance. The Poczta Polska employee records the last four digits of the number from the document being verified and can then release the shipment.
Parcel collection using a PIN is another solution implemented by Poczta Polska. This feature is available after the sender enters the recipient's phone number or email address, to which Poczta Polska provides a 6-digit PIN before delivery. Simply provide the PIN to the courier upon collection. The one-time collection code can be used with Pocztex, PACZKA+, and Paczka Pocztowa services.
Postal workers are also safely delivering parcels to people in quarantine and pulse oximeters to COVID-19 patients. During quarantine and isolation, delivery of registered letters requiring a receipt, such as correspondence from courts and prosecutors' offices, is suspended. Such mail is stored by the Company free of charge and delivered only when the address is no longer on the list of addresses subject to quarantine or isolation.
In line with its strategy and the growing interest in digital solutions, Poczta Polska is working to systematically expand its portfolio of products available online. Many services introduced during the pandemic will become permanent features of the company's offerings.
