Already 300,000 applications for co-financing the purchase of a digital receiver and nearly 30,000 devices sold
Poles are showing continued interest in obtaining subsidies for digital receiver purchases, visiting Poczta Polska (Polish Post) branches for this purpose. Since May 19th of this year alone, visitors to post offices and branches have submitted nearly 150,000 additional applications. Furthermore, thanks to the option to purchase decoders at the company's branches, customers have purchased over 27,000 decoders since May 10th of this year.
Nearly 300,000 customers visited Polish Post offices to obtain a voucher to subsidize the purchase of a digital receiver. The company launched processing applications on March 21st of this year, due to the change in the digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard. The subsidy for the purchase of digital receivers depends on the type of receiver and amounts to PLN 250 for a television and PLN 100 for a decoder. Receivers are now available for purchase at over 2,600 sales points across Poland.
Applying for a digital receiver benefit is possible online, via the website , or at Poczta Polska (Polish Post) offices located throughout the country. By far the most popular way for Poles to obtain a digital receiver benefit that allows for DVB-T2/HEVC terrestrial television reception is to visit a post office or its branch.
In Poland, the transition from DVB-T to DVB-T2/HEVC is taking place regionally, in four stages. The first switchovers began on March 28th in the Lower Silesian and Lubusz Voivodeships. The final switchover will take place on June 27th in the northeastern part of the country, covering the following voivodeships: Warmian-Masurian, Podlaskie, Masovian, and Lublin.
