A postcard dedicated to the father of Polish rock & roll
The Polish Post has introduced a postcard from the issue "100th anniversary of the birth of Franciszek Walicki – the father of Polish rock & roll".
The card's designer, Jarosław Ochendzan, included a photo of Franciszek Walicki in the illustration section. In the upper right corner of the address page, a postage stamp was printed, along with a graphic representing the band.
Franciszek Walicki, aka Jacek Grań, was an outstanding composer and songwriter, writing for artists such as Czesław Niemen, Krzysztof Klenczon, and Małgorzata Ostrowska. He was deeply involved in journalism and the development of Polish culture. He is considered the father of Polish rock & roll and big beat. In the 1950s, he actively participated in shaping the Polish jazz scene. He was awarded numerous distinctions, including the Officer's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Righteous Among the Nations Medal.
