Bird Transfer Notice
We understand that the information published on the Polish Post website may have stirred emotions and raised concerns about animal welfare. We appreciate your comments and concerns. We want to fully clarify the situation.
As a "designated operator," Poczta Polska is legally required to provide bird transport services, with this transport being prioritized at every logistical stage. Furthermore, the service is implemented after verifying external conditions directly affecting the animals' well-being and is suspended if conditions are suspected to be unsuitable (e.g., excessively high air temperatures).
It should be emphasized that this service is used by a specific professional group – breeders, who are also obliged by law to ensure the safety of transported animals.
Detailed provisions regarding transport, on the basis of which Poczta Polska provides the transport service, can be found in the Regulation of the Minister of Administration and Digitization of 29 April 2013 on the conditions for the provision of universal services by the designated operator, the regulations for the provision of universal services and the regulations for the provision of the Pocztex service in domestic traffic.
We ask our customers to provide appropriate conditions for the animals being shipped. We understand that animals are not ordinary parcels, so we make every effort to ensure that the transport is as quick as possible and with the least possible impact on the animals entrusted to the Post Office.
