Easier access to PFRON funding
The State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons has launched the Support Service System (SOW), which provides information on the types of PFRON support on the platform ( https://portal-sow.pfron.org.pl ) and at the same time creates the opportunity to apply for funding from PFRON funds in electronic form ( https://sow.pfron.org.pl ).
The tool, created by PFRON, aims to eliminate the need for individuals with disabilities and their caregivers to visit local government units distributing aid. A modern IT platform allows individuals to submit applications electronically and apply for PFRON funding online. Applicants can submit their applications online and sign the agreement using an electronic signature or a Trusted Profile. The SOW platform is also a source of information on all available programs and forms of support, including those related to professional activation.
According to data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), there are approximately 5 million people with disabilities in Poland (representing approximately 14% of the total population), and only 28% of them are professionally active. Barriers include stereotypes and employer concerns, but also a lack of knowledge on the part of people with disabilities, who often don't know what types of funding they can access, which programs they can participate in, or where to seek support to become professionally active. Therefore, professional activation and reducing unemployment among this group are among the most pressing challenges.
