The Ministry of Health is introducing an additional method for returning pulse oximeters.

pulse oximetersThe Ministry of Health, in consultation with Poczta Polska, is introducing the option of returning pulse oximeters to a post office. Patients enrolled in the Home Medical Care program, after completing their isolation, can choose a convenient method of returning their device as part of the program. They can use the previously available option of having the shipment collected by Poczta Polska courier or deliver the device, packaged in a return envelope, directly to the selected post office.

The Polish Post Office is distributing pulse oximeters as part of the Home Medical Care (DOM) program implemented by the Ministry of Health. The DOM program is a remote monitoring system for COVID-19-infected individuals whose health allows them to isolate at home. It enables the rapid detection of patients who, due to deteriorating health, should be referred for hospital treatment. As part of the diagnostic process, saturation levels, or the saturation of arterial blood with oxygen, are monitored.

Patients receive pulse oximeters and also use the system to transmit and monitor data at the DOM Contact Center. To date, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, postal workers have delivered 175,000 pulse oximeters. Previously, these returns were only possible via courier, through the PulsoCare app, through the hotline, or through a dedicated email address.

Currently, the Ministry of Health is also providing convalescents with the convenient option of having their pulse oximeter delivered to any post office, office (UP), or branch (FUP), excluding postal agencies. A list of all post offices (offices or branches) ready to accept pulse oximeters is available at www.placowki.poczta-polska.pl . The person who completes isolation can choose the location where they will return the pulse oximeter. For safety reasons, post offices will only accept the device packed in the return envelope that was delivered with the pulse oximeter.
