The most important Polish cycling race honored with a postage stamp

On May 31st of this year, the Polish Post introduced a special postage stamp dedicated to the Tour de Pologne. This year marks the 80th edition of the race, which unites cycling enthusiasts in Poland and around the world. This sporting event is also a great opportunity to showcase and admire the beauty of Poland.

The official launch of the banknote took place at the Polish Post headquarters. This exceptional event was attended by, among others, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State Assets Jacek Sasin, Czesław Lang – distinguished cyclist and organizer of the Tour de Pologne, and Krzysztof Falkowski – President of the company.

The stamp features a photograph of athletes taking part in the race, including Czesław Lang – a track and road cyclist, Olympic vice-champion and two-time medalist in the Road World Championships, and currently a sports activist and organizer of the Tour de Pologne UCI World.

Poczta Polska has been cooperating with the organizers of the Tour de Pologne for many years, appreciating their contribution to the promotion of our country.

The history of the race began in 1928, when cyclists set off on the route of the first Cycling Race Around Poland. The Tour de Pologne, as the event was named, grew, but also faced numerous difficulties and obstacles, much like the rebirth of our homeland. The race's history provides a glimpse into the changes taking place in our country. In 1993, Olympic vice-champion Czesław Lang assumed responsibility for its organization, ensuring the race's rapid growth. This culminated in its inclusion in the elite UCI World Tour series in 2005. For years, cyclists from the world's best teams have competed, and its message reaches millions of people on all continents. This event has undoubtedly become Poland's showcase worldwide.

This year's 80th edition of the Tour de Pologne will take place from July 29 to August 4. The race route will be officially announced in June on Polish Television.

This year, the Tour de Pologne celebrates a triple anniversary: 95 years of existence, the 80th edition of the race, and 30 years under the leadership of Czesław Lang.
