An extraordinary exhibition of Christmas nativity scenes at the Łódź Post Office

On December 8th of this year, the Łódź 4 Post Office at 5/7 Kościuszki Avenue hosted the grand opening of an exhibition of nativity scenes created by 30 popular Polish folk artists. This unique exhibition was created in collaboration with Maciej Balcerak, a private art collector, and is part of Poczta Polska's efforts to cultivate Christmas traditions.

The exhibition, featuring dozens of exceptional nativity scenes, is a collection of works by some of Poland's most talented contemporary folk artists, including Tadeusz Kacalak, Roman Śledzia, and Eugeniusz Zegadło. These religious Christmas sculptures most often depict the Holy Family: Mary, Joseph, and the Child, accompanied by angels, the Three Kings, and shepherds who have come to pay homage to the Savior. The Star of Bethlehem hovers above the nativity scenes, and animals brought by the shepherds surround them. Each nativity scene has its own unique style, characteristic of its creator. This is a unique attraction not only for lovers of sculpture, handicrafts, and folklore.

To celebrate the exhibition, Poczta Polska (Polish Post) has issued and released a postcard with a dedicated stamp. This unique publication is available at the philatelic shop at UP Łódź 4 and features images of three nativity scenes, created by Eugeniusz Zegadło, Roman Śledź, and Tadeusz Kacalak. The card was designed by Damian Graś, a Polish Post employee. The stamp features, among other things, an image of the nativity scene by Tadeusz Kacalak.

" Christmas is a special time, even for Poczta Polska. On the one hand, it's a time of intense work, handling a larger-than-usual volume of parcels—with gifts or purchases. Many of us still choose to send traditional, paper greetings. It's a beautiful tradition that definitely deserves to be cultivated and brings incomparably greater joy to the recipient than an electronic message. But postal workers also find time to get involved in various charitable initiatives that benefit those in difficult circumstances. Helping is one of the holiday traditions that is particularly close to our hearts, " emphasizes Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.

Poczta Polska also ensures that customers can purchase products at its branches that will help create an unforgettable holiday atmosphere. Among these, Christmas cards and cards (as many as 70 designs) are particularly popular. Poczta Polska also offers Christmas decorations, holiday-related gadgets, gift sets, holiday-themed books, decorative items for children, and gift-wrapping accessories. Customers can also find children's products, haberdashery, sweets, and even hay for the Christmas Eve table at its branches. At post offices and branches, as well as online at https://prezenty.poczta-polska.pl/ , you can order personalized products from Santa Claus – a traditional letter and a video featuring one or more of the children's characters.

Poczta Polska has been involved in charitable activities for many years. The company is once again organizing a donation drive at post offices. Products placed in special containers by customers will be distributed to those supported by the company's corporate foundation, "Pocztowy Dar." This year, support will also go to Ukrainian mothers and children who fled the war-torn country, as well as to the students of the Poczta Polska Special School in Skawina.
