The new Pocztex service means new benefits
Starting November 15th, Poczta Polska is introducing changes to its domestic parcel services. The portfolio is being simplified to two main products: the universal parcel service and the much more customer-friendly Pocztex courier service, with delivery standards of D+1 (next day after shipment) and D+0 (on the day of shipment).
Today, a press conference entitled "Open up to Pocztex" was held at the Company's headquarters, with the participation of: Wojciech Krysztofik, Director of the Supervision Department at the Ministry of State Assets, Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska, and Andrzej Bodziony, Vice-President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.
"The development of Poczta Polska in a market as competitive as courier services is extremely important. The Ministry of State Assets supports the company's efforts to modernize its logistics infrastructure by recapitalizing the company with PLN 190 million. We are also pleased that Poczta Polska, in order to serve its customers, has a new offering with many amenities essential in the dynamically developing e-commerce market," emphasizes Andrzej Śliwka, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets.
Open up to Pocztex
The changes being introduced affect Poczta Polska's portfolio of domestic parcel services. The entire offering will be simplified and will ultimately consist of only two products: universal parcels and Pocztex courier deliveries. The current Paczka+, Ekspres 24, Kurier 48, City Courier, National Courier, and Direct Courier services will be replaced with Pocztex services delivered on the D+1 standard (next day after dispatch).
"The new courier service offering is significantly simplified and tailored to our customers' market requirements. We are modifying our product portfolio while simultaneously raising service standards and implementing dedicated functionalities. We have just signed a contract for the supply of parcel machines, with the aim of providing customers with a network of 2,000 such machines by 2022. Over the next few years, we plan to allocate approximately PLN 300 million to developing our own network of machines. We want to be even more competitive for both individual customers and our business partners, ensuring they expect the highest quality of services, " said Tomasz Zdzikot, CEO of Poczta Polska.
The new Pocztex offers multi-channel delivery . We offer three options for choosing the most convenient method of receiving your shipment:
- Pocztex Kurier – delivery of parcels by courier to the indicated address;
- Pocztex Punkt – parcel deliveries to the largest network of collection points, which already includes over 17,000 locations throughout Poland and is constantly growing;
- Pocztex Automat – parcel deliveries to parcel machines.
The service will be provided in two services: Kurier (delivery to the address, to points and parcel machines across the country on the expected date D+1, i.e. the next day after sending) and Na dziś (delivery in selected cities and routes on D+0, i.e. on the same day).
" The new version of Pocztex is our response to the rapid growth of the e-commerce sector, driven by changing customer preferences, who increasingly choose online shopping and expect fast order fulfillment. The changes we are implementing are comprehensive: from introducing a new offering, rebuilding the entire logistics network, rebranding the image, and launching the new website www.pocztex.pl . Pocztex is accelerating, becoming more modern, and closer to customers – courier shipments will be delivered the day after posting, and in selected cities even the same day," emphasized Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
Pocztex's new offering introduces five shipment formats (S, M, L, XL, and 2XL). This change is crucial because service fees will now depend on the shipment's format, not its weight, as has been the case until now.
The website www.pocztex.pl . Customers can access two dedicated sections: one for retail customers and one for business customers. Both sections feature a personalized content layout.
Starting in September of this year, Poczta Polska has been gradually implementing changes to the Pocztex brand's visual identity, including a refreshed and modernized logo and rebranded courier uniforms and equipment. These changes are being systematically communicated through advertising campaigns using both online and traditional channels.
Pocztex Automat
One of the key components of the changes in Poczta Polska's CEP services is the development of its own network of external parcel machines, which will be marketed under the Pocztex Automat brand. Poczta Polska has signed a contract for the delivery of 2,000 parcel machines with the consortium of P2A BOX sp. z o. o. and Pakpobox Ltd. The first several hundred Poczta Polska parcel machines will be made available to customers in spring 2022, and a total of 2,000 machines will be launched by the end of 2022.
Pocztex Automat machines will be equipped with a touchscreen and a payment terminal enabling payment by card or BLIK when sending or receiving cash-on-delivery items. Facilities designed for customers with special needs are also planned, such as a special keyboard for the blind and visually impaired, as well as voice control. The basic color palette for the machines includes four colors: ecru, ash gray, red, and green, providing a wide range of flexible color selections and adaptations to the specific location, its character, and the type of building in which the machine will be installed. Pocztex also provides the option of customizing the color to suit the specific, individual requirements of a given location, for example, in historic buildings.
In parallel with the launch of the machines, Poczta Polska plans to launch a mobile application that will provide functionality for sending Pocztex parcels, tracking them, and collecting them from the machines. The software will be developed by Poczta Polska Usługi Cyfrowe. Poczta Polska has already signed an agreement to implement a comprehensive IT solution, which, in addition to a mobile application for smartphones, includes access to a dedicated Customer Panel for computer users.
Pocztex's strategic partner for parcel machine locations is Jeronimo Martins Polska SA, owner of the Biedronka chain of stores. In the first half of 2022, Pocztex machines will be installed in at least 750 Biedronka store locations across the country.
Collaboration with Jeronimo Martins Polska SA is strategic for Poczta Polska, considering the success of our project to build our own network of external parcel machines. Already in the first half of 2022, several million customers shopping at Biedronka stores every day will have the option of sending and collecting parcels from Pocztex parcel machines . Both companies, guided by the needs of their customers and the results of a successful pilot program, have decided to expand their cooperation to include KEP parcel collections at Biedronka stores through Pocztex Punkt delivery.
