Modern delivery channels support the eCommerce industry
Poles have embraced convenience. When shopping at their favorite online stores, they are increasingly choosing delivery to a self-collection location. The popularity of the "Pick-up at a Point" option has increased by as much as 50 percent. Currently, the largest "click-and-collect" network in Poland consists of Poczta Polska (Polish Post) branches and partner networks: Żabka stores, PKN Orlen gas stations, and Ruch kiosks and newsstands. Parcels can be collected from one of 12,600 locations nationwide.
Poles are adapting very well to the new reality and are quickly changing their shopping habits. This may mean that some of us will start using online shopping permanently. For logistics operators, including Poczta Polska, this presents a huge opportunity to promote and develop modern delivery channels, including the increasingly popular collection of parcels at Smartbox points and vending machines.
Compared to the same period last year, Poczta Polska has already recorded a nearly 50% increase in the number of parcels collected at Żabka stores, Orlen gas stations, and Ruch kiosks. At the same time, the popularity of parcel collection at Smartboxes is growing rapidly, attracting new customers thanks to their attractive locations in selected post offices and popular retail chains, including Biedronka.
Parcel collection from "click & collect" points is a trend in e-commerce that has been growing rapidly for several years. The Poczta Polska network of points is the largest of its kind in Poland, allowing customers to choose their parcel collection location from over 12,600 locations using a single delivery method. In April of this year alone, stores such as Smyk.com and Decathlon offered their customers the option of collecting their purchases from the network of points.
As part of new pandemic-related measures, Poczta Polska, together with its partners, has introduced contactless parcel collection. When collecting a parcel, simply provide the seller with the collection code without having to touch the terminal/PIN pad. The seller will automatically register the code and, if verified, will release the parcel. Contactless and quick parcel collection increases the sense of security.
