Opening of the exhibition "(I) DON'T SEE" at the University of Life Sciences Bydgoszcz 1

The opening of the exhibition "(I DON'T) SEE" took place at the Bydgoszcz Post Office 1. The exhibition is organized by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Special Educational and Care Center No. 1 for Visually Impaired and Blind Children and Youth named after L. Braille in Bydgoszcz and is part of the social campaign "I Can't See You, You See Me!" by the "Visus Supremus" Association.

The social campaign "I DON'T SEE YOU, YOU SEE ME!", now in its ninth year, is a series of activities aimed at activating and integrating people with visual impairments, targeting local communities and students in mainstream schools. As every year, the main goal of the initiative is to shape social attitudes based on openness, tolerance, and empathy towards people with visual impairments. The campaign is organized by the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Special Educational and Care Center No. 1 for Visually Impaired and Blind Children and Youth named after L. Braille in Bydgoszcz, in cooperation with partners, including Poczta Polska.

" This is the fifth time I've opened the "(I) DON'T SEE" exhibition, with great pleasure and emotion. Every year, it reminds me of the importance of activities aimed at disseminating information about the daily lives of visually impaired people, and above all, at preventing their social exclusion. I am proud that Poczta Polska is a partner in such an important undertaking, " emphasized Karol Górski, Director of the Bydgoszcz Network Region.

These activities are part of International White Cane Day, which falls on October 15th. Posters were displayed in thirty post offices in the Bydgoszcz Network Region as part of the social campaign. It's worth noting that Poczta Polska Network Region in Bydgoszcz received a distinction for supporting this initiative in 2019 – the "Blind-Friendly Facility" certificate.

"We are fully aware that the support of kind people, understanding, and openness to the needs of people with disabilities allows them to actively participate in social and professional life, develop their passions, overcome limitations, and achieve success . Working with visually impaired and blind people teaches tremendous patience, empathy, sensitivity, and allows them to see their lives from a completely different perspective," emphasized Małgorzata Szczepanek, Director of the Louis Braille Kujawsko-Pomorskie Special Educational and Care Center No. 1 for Visually Impaired and Blind Children and Youth in Bydgoszcz.

The exhibition at the Bydgoszcz 1 Post Office can be visited until October 24, 2022.
