Polish Post offices are open again in full capacity
The vast majority of post offices are now serving customers during the hours they were in effect before the state of epidemic was introduced in Poland. Additionally, 14 offices across the country are once again open 24 hours a day. Last week, post offices in shopping malls were reopened.
Customers will be able to use postal, banking, and insurance services during regular opening hours at nearly 90% of post offices and branches. The number of customers allowed in a branch will also be increased to two people per open window.
Of the 17 24-hour post offices, only three are still operating with reduced hours: UP Gdańsk 50, UP Szczecin 2, and UP Poznań 2. Where possible, all offices will gradually return to full opening hours in the near future. In other provincial capitals, customers can once again use postal services 24 hours a day, with two such offices open in Warsaw. Office hours can be checked here .
Post offices have returned to shopping malls, but those located in office buildings, city halls, museums, and airports remain closed. There are approximately 40 of these locations across the country. The Post Office will reopen them immediately after the facilities in which they are located reopen.
Poczta Polska has decided that a maximum of two customers can be present at any one open window. Safety zones are in place at branches, indicating the distance at which customers should stand in front of the window. Reducing the distance is only possible at the request of a staff member.
Nearly 4,600 glass or plexiglass screens have recently been installed at post offices as an additional safety measure. Post office employees are equipped with masks or face shields and hand sanitizers, and the Post Office is also gradually purchasing disposable gloves.
