Cashless payments are becoming more and more popular among Poczta Polska customers.
From mid-March to the end of June, Poczta Polska (Polish Post) saw an increase in cashless payments, both at post offices and with couriers. This convenient and accessible payment method was an ideal solution for customers who didn't want to pay for postal services in cash.
From January to June of this year, compared to the same period in 2019, Poczta Polska recorded an increase of over 130% in BLIK transactions, while the number of card payments increased by over 20%. The largest month-on-month increase in the number of card payments occurred in March of this year. There is also a significant increase in cashless payments by Poczta Polska couriers, with the number of card payments increasing by over 120% by the end of June compared to the same period in 2019.
By equipping our post offices with payment terminals, we not only provide our customers with the option of cashless payments for our services, but also offer a range of other convenient solutions. Customers can take advantage of, among others:
- payments in the card currency – DCC (Dynamic Currency Conversion), which enables payments for Poczta Polska services in the currency of the card issued by a foreign bank.
- Cash withdrawals with a bank payment card , which allows cash withdrawals from a bank payment card using a POS payment terminal. The maximum cash withdrawal limit at post offices is PLN 5,000 (but not more than the cash withdrawal limit set for a specific payment card). If the card transaction amount exceeds PLN 1,500, the customer must always present proof of identity. Poczta Polska does not charge any fees for cash withdrawals using payment cards; however, the withdrawal may involve the bank (card issuer) charging a fee, as specified in the bank's table of fees and commissions.
- Cashback is a convenient banking service that allows customers to withdraw cash when paying for purchases with a payment card. Cashback transactions can only be completed via a POS payment terminal in conjunction with the payment, meaning the sale and cash withdrawal occur in a single transaction. This service is available to all holders of VISA and MasterCard debit cards issued by banks that have enabled the cashback feature. The maximum withdrawal amount is PLN 300 for Visa cards and PLN 500 for MasterCard cards.
- Paysafecard codes are purchased , enabling the sale of Paysafecard vouchers. These are unique combinations of characters, known as electronic codes, which customers receive as a printout from a POS terminal. Such codes enable online payments, including for services or deliveries.
Importantly, we provide all the above services:
- in its own network of post offices, excluding postal agencies,
- without any additional fees charged by Poczta Polska,
- for VISA and MasterCard payment card holders, if the service provided requires the use of the card.
Poczta Polska has been seeing a steady increase in the above-mentioned transactions made using payment terminals at post offices. Compared to May of this year, the increase in these transactions ranged from 10% to 25%, and the purchase of Paysafecard codes increased by over 100%.
