Poczta Polska has introduced a special stamp into circulation on the occasion of the 17th Summer Paralympic Games Paris 2024, which will take place between August 28 and September 8.

The 4.90 PLN stamp features graphic elements referencing the architecture of Paris and the Games themselves – the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, and the Olympic torch. A pictogram representing a Paralympic runner and the logo of the Polish Paralympic Committee are featured at the top edge of the stamp.

The cover of the sheet, like the first day of circulation envelope, features images of great Polish Paralympians, gold medalists at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics: Patryk Chojnowski (table tennis), Karolina Kucharczyk (athletics), Barbara Bieganowska-Zając (athletics), Piotr Kosewicz (athletics), Renata Śliwińska (athletics), Róża Kozakowska (athletics), Natalia Partyka, and Karolina Pęk (table tennis). The date stamp design features a graphic symbolizing another Paralympic discipline – the discus throw.

The stamp was issued in a circulation of 126,000 copies. It is available in the Poczta Polska e-shop (sklep.poczta-polska.pl) and at post offices offering extended sales of philatelic publications nationwide.

The 17th Summer Paralympic Games in Paris will begin on August 28 and run until September 8. The program of competitions, held under the slogan "Games Wide Open," includes 22 sports disciplines. A team of 84 Polish athletes will compete for medals in France. Eight of them will compete with an assistant, pilot, or guide. Polish Paralympians will compete in 15 disciplines.

To date, Polish representatives have won a total of 798 medals in the Paralympic Games.
