Polish Post for fans

Euro 2020The Polish national football team is starting its EURO 2020 campaign. Poczta Polska (Polish Post) declares it's ready for the sporting excitement. It has prepared a white-and-red fan offer specifically for the event, available at a wide network of branches. After five months of this year, the company has recorded a 15% year-on-year increase in revenue from sales of commercial goods at post offices.

The "Poczta Polska for Fans" press briefing took place on June 14th of this year at Poczta Polska's headquarters in Warsaw. The meeting was attended by Jan Tomaszewski, the legendary goalkeeper of the national team who stopped England in 1973; Marek Matuszewski, Member of the Polish Parliament (Sejm) and Acting Chairman of the Standing Parliamentary Committee on Physical Culture, Sport, and Tourism; Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska SA; and Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska SA.

" I'm very happy that Poczta Polska is promoting EURO 2020, and that's very important. We're all counting on our team, because, as we know, 'the ball is round but there are two goals.' So there's always a chance to win, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a great result for the Poles. I'd also like to mention here that sport is also important in the Polish Deal program. It includes over 300 new pitches in various municipalities where none existed before. Over 3,600 pitches will also be renovated because we want as many young and old athletes as possible to have good conditions for practicing sports, " said Marek Matuszewski.

" The Polish Post is doing a great job of promoting sport among the Polish people. It's especially important to promote sport among young people. There's no sport without fans. They even say that fans are the twelfth player in every national team," said Jan Tomaszewski. "As I stand here today in front of a stamp issued by the Polish Post, I'd like to remind you of the initiative to name the National Stadium in Warsaw after this famous coach, who, for me, was the Pope of Polish football and who proved 'that Poles are not geese and have their own football and their own players, '" he emphasized.

During the exceptionally exciting EURO 2020 season, Poczta Polska invites you to support our footballers and cheer on the national team. The company has been promoting and actively supporting Polish sport for years. It regularly issues stamps featuring prominent figures from the world of Polish sport. In 2021, Poczta Polska presented customers and philatelists with a circulation stamp from the "Kazimierz Górski" issue. Kazimierz Deyna was featured on Poczta Polska's circulation stamps in 2019. A stamp featuring the biggest current star in Polish football – Robert Lewandowski – was introduced in 2018. Poczta Polska also commemorates sporting events. In May, a philatelic issue honored the 2021 European Athletics Team Championships Silesia, where Polish athletes won the gold medal.

This year, philatelic issues will be released dedicated to current sporting events: in July, these will be the "Games of the XXXII Olympiad TOKYO 2020" and the "XVI Summer Paralympic Games TOKYO 2020," and in September, the "European Amputee Football Championship Kraków 2021" will be honored with a postage stamp. A commemorative stamp will also be introduced to mark the 100th anniversary of the Polonia Warszawa club, which falls this year.

Offers related to sporting events are available at post offices. The campaign, emphasizing patriotic and sporting elements, will run until August 13th. It includes not only products related to EURO 2020 but also the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. In addition to a wide selection of flags and T-shirts, the post office also offers a wide range of dedicated items and board games.

Adapting the sales offer of its branches not only to seasonal customer needs but also to current sporting and cultural events is one of the elements of the company's sales strategy. Poczta Polska has recorded a significant increase in sales of products available at its branches. After five months of this year, it is clear that customers have been satisfied with the offer. The company recorded a 15% increase in revenue from this source compared to the same period in 2020. The largest increases during this period were recorded in the sales of children's games and toys (60%), books and coloring books (50%). Easter cards and cards, sweets, and beverages also enjoyed greater popularity.
