Poczta Polska delivers disinfectants to schools and kindergartens

fleet_post_poland_5_Poczta Polska is transporting protective equipment intended for educational institutions across the country. Since March of this year, the company has been working to support institutions fighting the pandemic. As part of its "Special Actions," Poczta Polska has already delivered disinfectant fluids to hospitals, clinics, police, and border guards, and has also established storage facilities for the Ministry of Health.

The distribution of supplies to schools and preschools was implemented as a National Pallet Delivery service. It involved collecting shipments from two Material Reserves Agency warehouses and then delivering protective equipment to district warehouses. Approximately 1,000 pallets of masks and over 2,000 pallets of disinfectants were transported, as well as over 350 full truckload shipments. The delivery took postal workers just seven business days.

"We have been continuously implementing 'Special Actions' for the Ministry of Health during the epidemic. At the end of the summer holidays, we were given a huge and absolutely priority logistical task, the aim of which was to ensure the safest possible return of children and young people to in-person education in educational institutions. Poczta Polska was obligated to provide protective equipment for schools and preschools across Poland. We once again fulfilled this task very well, " says Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.

Immediately after securing educational institutions, another distribution of protective equipment and medical supplies to hospitals across the country began on September 7th. This order comprised approximately 2,500 unit loads, 60 full truckload shipments, and 1,500 pallets of general cargo. Processing this order took postal workers three days. On September 10th, the Polish Post Office began another project: direct deliveries of medical equipment to approximately 300 hospitals.

Due to the scope of Poczta Polska's operations, the efficiency and extensiveness of its logistics network, the national operator is the only logistics entity capable of carrying out such tasks for public institutions. Due to the current epidemic situation, Poczta Polska – at the request of the Ministry of Health – is transporting and distributing personal protective equipment to healthcare facilities and other entities designated by the Ministry of Health.
