The Polish Post Office and the Naval Academy in Gdynia launched DBA studies

On December 16, 2020, Poczta Polska and the Polish Naval Academy signed a cooperation agreement to launch the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. The official signing ceremony was attended by the company's CEO, Krzysztof Falkowski, and the Rector-Commandant of the Polish Naval Academy, Cadm. Prof. Tomasz Szubrycht. The DBA in Cybersecurity and Digital Services Management is intended to deepen the knowledge, competencies, and skills of senior management responsible for building the resilience of entities in the public, military, and private sectors to cyber threats. Enrollment has already begun.

DBA studies are addressed to future or current managers, executives and persons managing the activities of Key Service Operators, entities constituting the Critical Infrastructure of the State and representatives of central administration and services who hold a professional master's degree or a master's degree in engineering and have completed postgraduate Master of Business Administration studies.

" A DBA diploma provides a competitive advantage and increases its holder's value and attractiveness in the job market. Cyber threats are constantly evolving, which is why it's so important to continually improve competencies and develop skills to prevent and neutralize cybercriminals. Thanks to our partnership with the Naval Academy in Gdynia, DBA students will have the opportunity to enhance their qualifications under the guidance of recognized experts and authorities in the field of cybersecurity. Poczta Polska will provide substantive oversight of the studies, as one of the companies of strategic importance to the country, which are increasingly vulnerable to cybercriminal attacks, " said Krzysztof Falkowski, CEO of Poczta Polska.

"We are very pleased to be implementing another project with Poczta Polska and guarantee that our students will be familiarized with best practices for conducting research in the field of security science. Our university possesses high competence in this area, as evidenced by receiving the highest rating in the research evaluation process for the years 2017-2021. The substantive content provided during the DBA studies will allow students to begin independent research, which will culminate in obtaining a doctoral degree. In my opinion, this degree will be very valuable, as in Poland only a small group of scientists are involved in the management of cybersecurity and digital services," said Rector-Commandant of the Polish Naval Academy, Admiral Prof. Dr. hab. Tomasz Szubrycht.

The program includes classes on research methodology, national security management, cybersecurity management, and digital services. Knowledge will be delivered by highly qualified specialists, lecturers, and practitioners specializing in these topics. Theoretical classes will be conducted in an auditorium format using various audiovisual techniques (in-person or remotely), while practical classes will be based on case studies, exercises, and computer lab work. Completion of the program is contingent upon meeting all requirements specified in the program of study and preparing a final thesis in the form of a dissertation concept, the subject matter of which encompasses the broadly defined areas of national security, cybersecurity, and digital services, and falls within the discipline of security studies. The program also includes collaboration on the publication of a scientific publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal with at least national circulation.

Poczta Polska also collaborates with the Naval Academy on the highly rated Executive Master of Business Administration postgraduate program in "Cybersecurity and Digital Services Management." The goal of this program is to fill the gap related to the shortage of cybersecurity experts, including those with management skills.
