Poczta Polska and Energa are developing electromobility

DSC_6491Poczta Polska is preparing to introduce electric vehicles. Energa is expected to assist in this endeavor. The two companies have signed a letter of intent to jointly develop transport based on this type of vehicle.

Since 2018, Poczta Polska has been working to develop electromobility, testing various types of electric vehicles and charging stations. The company has a fleet of over 5,000 vehicles and is preparing to gradually replace them with electric vehicles. The first electric postal vehicles will join the fleet this fall.

Energa will help the Polish Post Office provide infrastructure for electric vehicles, including the necessary charging equipment and management system. The energy company is systematically expanding its charging network for these types of vehicles. By the end of 2019, the Energa Group will have a total of 54 stations, and by 2022, at least 100. These stations will be located, among other locations, along major transportation routes and in most major cities within the Group's operating area. Some of these stations will be fast charging stations, allowing a vehicle to be charged to 80% within 30 minutes.

Companies are preparing for the "Plan for the Development of Electromobility in Poland" launched by the Ministry of Energy, implementing the "Plan for Responsible Development".

Last year, the Polish Post Office conducted the largest tests in Poland of electric delivery vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons and with a payload of up to 800 kg. This served as a testing ground for drivers, maintenance staff, and manufacturers. Nine vehicle brands and five types of charging stations were tested. Currently, tests are underway on electric vehicles with a payload exceeding 800 kg. Vehicles from five manufacturers are used daily by postal workers in Warsaw, Poznań, Lublin, Łódź, Zabrze, Kraków, and Pruszcz Gdański. Charging stations from four companies are also being tested simultaneously.
