The Polish Post is rooting for our Olympians. A new stamp commemorates the Olympic Games in Paris.

The Polish Post has introduced a postage stamp from the "Polish Olympic Team at the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad in Paris 2024" issue. The stamp, issued in a circulation of 126,000 copies, is available in the Polish Post e-Shop and at post offices offering extended sales of philatelic publications nationwide.
The stamp features the TeamPL logo, which is part of this year's promotion for Polish Olympians. The central part of the stamp features the Olympic flag, with its colored circles symbolizing the union of the five continents. This symbol was designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games, to represent the colors found on every flag in the world.
The issue is accompanied by a First Day of Circulation (FDC) envelope, which features photos of Polish Olympians interwoven with elements of a colorful mosaic inspired by the TeamPL logo, creating a dynamic and harmonious composition. A commemorative date stamp, featuring elements of the logo, completes the whole.
Over the past 100 years, Polish Olympism has undergone significant changes. Sports, Olympic disciplines, trends, and athletic style have evolved. At the beginning of the modern Games, amateurs dominated, while today most Olympians are professionals. Despite all the changes, one thing remains constant: the joy and excitement that accompany the competition among both athletes and fans.
The XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will begin on July 26, 2024, and Paris will host this prestigious event for the third time in history. It is also a unique opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of independent Poland's participation in the Games. In 1924, Poland fielded its first national team, achieving historic success. The Polish track cycling team – composed of Józef Lange, Jan Łazarski, Tomasz Stankiewicz, and Franciszek Szymczyk – won the silver medal in the 4000m race. The first Polish individual Olympic medalist was Major Adam Królikiewicz, who won the bronze medal in equestrian show jumping on the horse "Picador."
This year, athletes will compete in 329 events across 32 disciplines, with a total of 10,500 Olympians. The Polish national team consists of over 200 athletes. At Paris 2024, we're counting on more than just high rankings for our representatives. Among our competitors are talented athletes such as Ewa Swoboda, Iga Świątek, Wojciech Nowicki, Bartosz Kurek, and Mateusz Bieniek – a Pocztex brand ambassador. Polish representatives will compete in both team and individual disciplines, including equestrianism, kayaking, shooting, boxing, and sailing. Swimmers and track and field athletes will also be making the trip to the Seine. We also have representatives in less popular events, such as golf (Adrian Meronk) and 10-meter vaulting (Robert Łukaszewicz).
