Poczta Polska supports our Olympians. A new stamp on the occasion of the Olympic Games in Paris

Poczta Polska introduced into circulation the emission stamp "Polish Olympic national team at the XXXIII Olympics Paris 2024". The value, issued in a circulation of 126,000 copies, is available at the Esklept of Poczta Polska and post offices conducting extended sales of philatelic publications throughout the country.

The stamp shows the Teampl logo, which is this year's element of the promotion of Polish Olympians. The central part of the stamp is occupied by an Olympic flag with colorful wheels symbolizing the Union of five continents. This sign was designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the creator of the modern Olympic Games, with a view to the presentation of colors located on every flag of the world.

The broadcast is accompanied by an FDC envelope (on the first day of circulation), in which photos of Polish Olympians intertwine with elements of a colorful mosaic inspired by Teamp, creating a dynamic and harmonious composition. The whole is complemented by a occasional date stamp, in which the logotype elements were used.

Over the past 100 years, Polish Olympism has undergone significant changes. Sports, Olympic disciplines, trends and sports style have evolved. At the beginning of the modern games, amateurs dominated, while today most Olympians are professionals. Despite all changes, one remains unchanged - the joy and emotions accompanying the struggles among both athletes and supporters.

The XXXIII Summer Olympic Games will start on July 26, 2024, and Paris will host this prestigious event for the third time in history. It is also a unique opportunity to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the participation of independent Poland in the Games. In 1924, Poland first issued its national team, immediately successful. The Polish team of track cyclists - composed of Józef Lange, Jan Łazarski, Tomasz Stankiewicz and Franciszek Szymczyk - won the silver medal in the 4000 m race. In turn, the first Polish individual Olympic medalist was Major Adam Królikiewicz, who on the horse "Picador" won the bronze medal in horse riding, in jumping through obstacles.

This year, competitors will compete in 329 competitions, 32 disciplines, and the total number of Olympians will be 10,500 people. The Polish team has over 200 athletes. In Paris 2024 we count not only on the high deposits of our representatives. Our players include talented athletes such as Ewa Swoboda, Iga Świątek, Wojciech Nowicki, Bartosz Kurek and Mateusz Bieniek - Pocztex ambassador. Polish representatives will compete in both team and individual disciplines, including in riding, canoeing, shooting, boxing and sailing. Swimmers and athletes will also go over the Seine. We also have representatives in less popular competitions, such as Golf (Adrian Meronk) or jumping from the 10 m tower (Robert Łukaszewicz).
