Poczta Polska is purchasing a modern IT system for post offices
Poczta Polska has concluded an agreement with a company from the Poczta Polska Usługi Cyfrowe group, operating on the commercial market under the name Envelo, for the purchase and implementation of the "Nowy System Operacyjny" IT system.
The subject of the contract is the contractor's production and implementation of an IT solution supporting the handling of sales and sales-related processes carried out in post offices, together with the provision of maintenance and warranty services.
" Poczta Polska has consistently focused on computerization. Currently, logistics software is being developed – a TMS system. Intensive work is underway on e-delivery support. An IT system that will streamline customer service at post offices is another significant investment in process digitization. Digital Post is one of the pillars of our strategy for 2021–2023; we intend to allocate a total of PLN 1.4 billion for IT and infrastructure investments. This is essential for Poczta Polska to be a modern company that can effectively compete in the many markets in which it operates: courier, logistics, and financial services ," emphasizes Tomasz Zdzikot, CEO of Poczta Polska.
Currently, sales processes at post offices are carried out using multiple systems, including the Poczta 2000 system, which is the primary system supporting business processes. However, this distributed system is inefficient in many areas, and the relatively long lead times required to introduce new services or adapt to customer needs prevent Poczta Polska from quickly responding to changes in the business environment. Hence, the need to implement a central operating system, which is reflected in Poczta Polska's strategy.
" Computerization of services is a necessity of our times, benefiting both customers and employees. The new IT system for sales management at post offices is one of the most important IT projects we are currently conducting. By expanding our offer of diverse postal, banking, and financial services, we ensure the satisfaction of customers visiting our offices, " says Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
The system will enable both the provision of services and support the sale of goods offered in retail outlets. An additional benefit of implementing NSO will be the simplification and optimization of operational processes across all service and product distribution channels.
" Poczta Polska produces key software within its postal software house, which is Poczta Polska Usługi Cyfrowe, a company within our group. This ensures the integration of digital competencies, allowing for more efficient operation and cost optimization of IT solutions, which are essential to serving customers in an increasingly modern way, " says Krzysztof Falkowski, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
Thanks to planned optimization functionalities, many labor-intensive processes will be automated. The system is scheduled for implementation by the end of 2024.
