The Polish Post Office pays tribute to the Warsaw Uprising participants

pp_fot_1Poczta Polska has once again joined the BohaterON – turn on history! campaign, honoring the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising.

BohaterON – Turn on History! is a nationwide historical campaign aimed at commemorating and honoring the participants of the Warsaw Uprising, as well as the history of 20th-century Poland. The project aims to educate Poles based on the stories of the insurgents, strengthen their sense of national identity, foster patriotic attitudes, and build social awareness. The campaign begins on August 1 and runs until October 2, 2020.

Poczta Polska has long been cultivating the memory of heroes from Polish history. Beyond its business activities, the company pursues a social mission by engaging in various initiatives promoting historical knowledge. Poczta Polska has participated in the BohaterON – Turn on History! campaign since its inception, building a community that remembers the history of our country and its heroes. This is achieved by sending online cards to a selected Warsaw Insurgent. In the first four editions of the campaign, Poles sent over 830,000 cards and letters to Warsaw Insurgents.

The Warsaw Uprising is remembered as one of the most important events shaping Polish identity. It embodied key principles such as patriotism, freedom, and determination to resist enemies. The Polish Post upholds these principles and, through its activities, aims to restore their presence in the everyday lives of every Pole, for it is on the traditions of our heroic ancestors that we should build the present and the future of younger generations of Polish patriots.

We invite you to read an interview with Mr. Władysław Rosiński – a participant in the Warsaw Uprising, who worked at the Polish Post Office from 1942 to August 1, 1944.
