Polish Post: Fees for transferring money to flood victims will go to the victims
Fees collected from payments made at Poczta Polska branches to organizations providing aid to flood victims will be distributed to those in need. The company has decided to donate these funds to public benefit organizations supporting those affected by the flood.
As a State Treasury company, Poczta Polska collects fees from payments made at its branches. However, the company's management has decided that all funds collected from September 16th to 30th of this year from fees for payments to the bank accounts of organizations providing aid to flood victims will also be distributed to the affected individuals.
Poczta Polska is taking a number of measures to help those affected by the flood. Among other things, the company has accelerated the delivery of pensions in flood-affected areas to ensure access to funds for affected seniors during this difficult time.
"In such an extreme situation, saving lives and property comes first. Access to cash is also essential." "We want senior citizens at risk of flooding or already affected by a natural disaster to have access to their funds," emphasized Sebastian Mikosz, President of Poczta Polska.
Poczta Polska is also gradually launching replacement and mobile postal points for residents of areas affected or at risk of flooding. Mobile postal points primarily allow for cash payments and withdrawals, as well as basic services such as mailing letters or parcels. Additionally, pension and disability benefits are paid there.
The company provides ongoing updates on the locations of its replacement postal points via its website www.poczta-polska.pl and on social media.
As with other natural disasters, pandemics, and emergencies, Poczta Polska is launching additional initiatives to support governments, local governments, and the company's employees. In consultation with the Government Security Center, the company is responding to the most urgent needs related to the distribution of missing products in flooded areas by providing its logistics and warehousing capabilities.
