Polish Post warns against fake text messages
Cybercriminals are sending text messages to random numbers, impersonating Poczta Polska and other operators. Please be advised that Poczta Polska does not send text messages requesting additional payment to receive your parcel. Please be vigilant and carefully read any messages and any links contained within.
Recently, we've seen an increase in cybercriminals' activity, sending text messages to fake payment sites. These messages are being received by both regular Poczta Polska customers and those who aren't expecting any parcels. Their credibility among recipients increases because the text messages sent by criminals are signed with the name "Poczta Polska," and the fake message will appear on the phone beneath the legitimate text messages received from Poczta Polska.
We would like to inform you that Poczta Polska only sends SMS messages regarding the status of shipments, and all fees related to shipments, e.g. cash on delivery, are paid only upon receipt of the shipment.
If you receive suspicious messages or suspect any irregularities or discrepancies, please report the matter to the police and immediately inform us at cyberbezpieczenstwo[at]poczta-polska.pl . This will allow us to warn other online users.
At the same time, we would like to inform you that Poczta Polska is not responsible for the consequences of actions taken by customers in messages disseminated by other entities, including entities impersonating Poczta Polska.
