The Polish Post is a partner of a film about Witold Pilecki
The life story of Witold Pilecki, one of Poland's greatest heroes, has been adapted into a film. Directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz, the film will be released in theaters on September 1, 2023. Poczta Polska is one of the official production partners.
Poczta Polska is an active partner in various events, including regional festivals, business events, and sports competitions. We have also been collaborating with Telewizja Polska (Polish Television) on film partnerships for a long time. As a result, we became one of the official partners of the film "Pilecki's Report," directed by Krzysztof Łukaszewicz.
This long-awaited historical production presents the story of one of Poland's greatest heroes – Captain Witold Pilecki. He was a scout, a participant in the Battle of Warsaw, a defender of Poland in 1939, a member of the resistance movement, a Warsaw Uprising fighter, and a member of General Anders' Army. He demonstrated unquestionable courage – he volunteered to enter the Auschwitz concentration camp. He managed to escape after 947 days. In a report written after his escape, he revealed to the world the truth about the Germans' criminal activities. After the war, he was arrested, tortured, and sentenced to death by the communists for activities hostile to the People's Republic of Poland, but never renounced his ideals.
The film meticulously reconstructs the realities of the times in which the action takes place to transport viewers deep into historical events, revealing both unknown facts and important aspects of the protagonist's life. Przemysław Wyszyński plays the lead role.
