Poczta Polska signed an agreement with the Government Security Centre
On December 12th, 2019, Poczta Polska and the Government Centre for Security concluded a cooperation agreement. The document was officially signed by members of the company's Management Board – President Krzysztof Falkowski and Vice President Wiesław Włodek – and Director of the Government Centre for Security, Colonel Konrad Korpowski. Both entities committed to close and effective cooperation in the area of national security and defense.
The agreement covers issues such as crisis management, including the protection of critical infrastructure. It includes declarations of readiness to undertake actions to support national defense.
"Poczta Polska is a company of strategic importance to the state administration. We have proven our worth in difficult and challenging circumstances – during the coronavirus pandemic and the consequences of the war in Ukraine. This partnership in exchanging information, knowledge, and experience will be extremely valuable for both Poczta Polska and the Government Center for Security, " said Krzysztof Falkowski.
The agreement was concluded for an indefinite period and includes, among other things, elements such as the mutual sharing of information on threats and events that affect the level of security of the state and society, the sharing of analyses, assessments and forecasts, and conducting ad hoc consultations on threats and events of concern.
" The geopolitical situation requires the involvement of many institutions in building a threat-resistant and well-connected state. However, without a society aware of the threats, achieving this goal is virtually impossible. I believe, however, that thanks to the cooperation of our institutions – the Government Security Centre and the Polish Post Office – communication during a crisis will be easier in many areas, " said Colonel Konrad Korpowski.
Poczta Polska and the Government Security Center will also organize joint conferences and seminars, exchange experiences and best practices, and develop initiatives to improve communication with citizens regarding crisis management. Among other initiatives, the institutions intend to conduct joint information campaigns to prevent and counteract threats.
