Poczta Polska has signed an agreement with the Territorial Defence Forces (WOT), the aim of which is to strengthen the country's defense capabilities.

The Polish Post has concluded an agreement with the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. The signing of the document is consistent with a number of initiatives the company undertakes to promote and foster patriotic and pro-defense attitudes. One of the key elements of the new agreement is the Territorial Defense Forces' organization of training courses for postal workers.

The agreement, concluded on August 9th of this year at Poczta Polska's headquarters in Warsaw, was signed by the company's President, Tomasz Zdzikot, and the commander of the Territorial Defence Forces, Lieutenant General Wiesław Kukuła. Expanding existing cooperation will enable, among other things, the organization of training for employees of the national postal operator, joint training to improve cooperation, and collaboration between instructors and teaching staff. The agreement will also strengthen the defense capabilities of the Republic of Poland by preparing soldiers and postal workers to cooperate in various states of national defense readiness.

" Poczta Polska is actively working to strengthen the country's defense capabilities. As an employer, we not only support the idea of serving in the Territorial Defence Forces (WOT), but also encourage and reward those postal workers who see themselves in the ranks of the "Territorials." The war beyond our eastern border has highlighted the importance of educating and developing pro-defense attitudes, as well as fostering proper cooperation between key national actors. This is also the goal of the agreement signed today with the WOT. Postal workers will have the opportunity to undergo practical training under the supervision of instructors, and further intensification of cooperation will translate into more effective collaboration in various situations ," emphasized Tomasz Zdzikot, President of Poczta Polska.

As an employer, Poczta Polska supports its Territorial Defense Force (TDF) employee soldiers. It ensures they can fulfill their assigned duties and support the acquisition of new qualifications in specialized military fields. Poczta Polska's commitment to supporting the TDF is confirmed by its 2019 award in the "TDF-Friendly Employer" competition, which was received by Poczta Polska's Świętokrzyskie region. Last year, the company's fruitful cooperation with the Territorial Defense Force (TDF) was also recognized by soldiers. On November 25, 2021, Poczta Polska received the award and the "TDF-Friendly Employer" statuette in the medium-sized enterprise category.

" Polish Post is a critical component of the country's immunity system and one of the largest Polish employers. We, the soldiers, have witnessed its potential, among other things, during the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Territorial Defence Force (WOT) and Polish Post have many things in common; many WOT soldiers are employees of the Polish Post, and the Polish Post is also highly territorial in nature. By concluding the agreement, we are laying the formal groundwork for further cooperation, including the commencement of the process of employee defense training, and consequently, we are developing the country's first line of defense – its resilience ," noted Lieutenant General Wiesław Kukuła, Commander of the Territorial Defence Force.

Since May of this year, Poczta Polska has been running a special program called "Shoulder to Shoulder with the Territorial Defense Forces," which creates attractive conditions for employees to combine work with service in the defense and security of the state. Postal workers serving in the Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) receive benefits such as subsidies for sports activities, two additional days off work while retaining their right to remuneration for the calendar year. Absences from work directly related to territorial military service do not affect the bonus amount. Furthermore, TDF soldiers can obtain life insurance on preferential terms and benefit from discounts when booking accommodations at the TDF's facilities and guest rooms located throughout the country. Poczta Polska is also committed to promoting the idea of territorial defense publicly. It is worth noting that in 2021, Poczta Polska issued a circulation stamp of the "TDF" issue in a circulation of 1 million copies.

Since July, Poczta Polska has also introduced the "Welcome to Arms" program, designed for postal workers who would like to acquire basic knowledge and skills in the use of firearms. The program is open to all employees of the company – from postmen to customer service and administration representatives, excluding security staff and those who already hold firearms licenses, are members of shooting clubs, or have shooting experience.
