Poczta Polska signed an agreement with AMW to launch EMBA studies

AWMThe Naval Academy in Gdynia, in cooperation with Poczta Polska SA, will launch an expert postgraduate program, Executive Master of Business Administration, in the field of "Cybersecurity and Digital Services Management," in the 2021/2022 academic year. The Academy will announce enrollment soon. All individuals interested in IT education and development, including employees of the Poczta Polska SA Group of Companies, are eligible to participate.

On June 24 this year, the President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska SA, Tomasz Zdzikot, Vice President Krzysztof Falkowski, and the Rector-Commandant of the Polish Naval Academy, Admiral Prof. Dr. hab. Tomasz Szubrycht, signed an agreement in this matter.

" The continuous development of digital services, including the flagship project implemented by the Company, the National Digital Operator, requires appropriate security, including in terms of employee competencies. The Company, as the largest logistics company in the country and a designated operator, already provides a range of digital services. Due to their scale, our systems are among the largest in Poland. A properly prepared and qualified staff is as important as the ICT infrastructure itself. Thanks to the continued fruitful cooperation with the Naval Academy, for which I am grateful, our employees will gain access to the expert knowledge and experience of people from the world of science and practice. Such a prepared staff will be able to face the challenges posed by the process of digitization in all areas of life," emphasized Tomasz Zdzikot, CEO of Poczta Polska SA.

The program will be offered in Gdynia and Warsaw, and enrollment is open to all interested parties. Places are limited and applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The launch of this program addresses market expectations, as demand for cybersecurity experts continues to grow, yet the number of universities offering this specialization is limited.

The course focuses on raising awareness of cybersecurity threats and methods for countering them. EMBA students will also gain knowledge and skills in economics, finance, business law, marketing, and PR, as well as risk management, key service management, modern technologies, modern organizational improvement methods, information security management, incident monitoring and response, and effective project and service management methods.

Poczta Polska SA, as the largest infrastructure company in Poland, providing – in a broad and increasingly extensive scope – digital services to the state and its citizens, will cooperate with AMW in order to ensure a high level of substantive and practical dimension of the knowledge transferred.

" Universities launching degree programs in consultation and collaboration with market players is a current, positive trend, but also a requirement of our times to design programs that respond to real market demands and align with the needs of the economy. One of the goals of the Naval Academy is to develop cybersecurity, and the agreement with the Polish Post Office is a continuation of this path. Last year, we established the Maritime Cybersecurity Center within the Academy, which will continuously implement a range of expert, workshop, and training projects. We want Polish experts to have access to the latest knowledge and technology in this field. We have invited renowned individuals from many fields, including law, management, finance, and the Polish cybersecurity community, to serve as lecturers – both academics and practitioners," said Rear Admiral Prof. Dr. hab. Tomasz Szubrycht.

The signing of an agreement with the Polish Naval Academy to organize the Executive Master of Business Administration postgraduate program in "Cybersecurity and Digital Services Management" is the next step in the implementation of the bilateral agreement signed between Poczta Polska and the university on September 15th of last year. Its main goal is to collaborate on the development of the company's staff and to jointly prepare and implement projects that align with the mission and needs of both institutions. It is worth noting that, as part of the agreement, representatives of Poczta Polska participated in, among other events, the second edition of the "Winter Cybersecurity School," organized on March 9th and 10th of this year by the Polish Naval Academy's Maritime Cybersecurity Center in Gdynia.
