Poczta Polska promotes sports activities. Participants in the 2021 Virtual Sports Triad covered a distance of almost 10,000 km.
The official results are in! Poczta Polska, together with its partners from the company's Capital Group, once again organized a virtual sports event for employees, their families, and supporters – the Virtual Sports Triad. The goal of this sports initiative was to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the founder of Poczta Polska, King Sigismund II Augustus, and to provide financial support to beneficiaries of the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation and local sports clubs. Participants in this year's edition purchased a total of approximately 1,500 starter kits and, competing in three disciplines (walking, running, cycling), covered a total distance of nearly 10,000 km.
This year's edition of Poczta Polska's sports competitions took place in a hybrid format. The Virtual Sports Triad kicked off with the Polish Post Cup Run, which took place outdoors on Saturday, October 16th in the picturesque Szymański Park in Warsaw. The competition consisted of three different running distances (2 km, 5 km, and 10 km) and, for the first time, a new discipline was added – a 2 km and 5 km walk. Cadets from the Gdynia Naval Academy, among others, participated in this year's edition for the first time.
The Polish Post Cup Run was combined with a picnic. The event was attended not only by the Postmen themselves, but also by their families, friends, and supporters. Among them were both running enthusiasts and those who enjoy active leisure. The event also featured activities for the youngest participants. Young athletes could participate in the "Young Postman Run" – a 100-meter race in two age categories: for children up to 6 years old and for those aged 7-10.
" Poczta Polska is once again organizing sports initiatives to celebrate the birth anniversary of its founder, King Sigismund II Augustus. We are also promoting sports activities on this occasion, as currently, during this challenging period of the pandemic, taking care of our health and immunity is crucial for each of us, " said Tomasz Zdzikot, President of the Management Board of Poczta Polska.
" We are pleased that this year's Virtual Sports Triad encouraged not only our employees and their families, but also a wide range of Poczta Polska supporters to participate in sporting events. We look forward to continuing this trend in the coming years, " added Andrzej Bodziony, Vice President of Poczta Polska.
The main competition of the 2021 Virtual Sports Triad, which took place from October 16-31, 2021, featured running, walking, cycling, or a combination of all of the above. This year's Virtual Sports Triad, like all sporting events organized annually by Poczta Polska, was guided by a noble cause – funds from starter kits and individual donations will be allocated to support those supported by the "Pocztowy Dar" Foundation. Through the foundation, local sports clubs will receive assistance that will facilitate their operations and training for sports enthusiasts young and old.
The event partners were companies from the Poczta Polska Capital Group: Envelo, Postdata, Bank Pocztowy, Poczta Polska Dystrybucja and Pocztylion – Arka PTE
