Poczta Polska promotes online safety
Poczta Polska has become one of the partners in the Safer Internet Day celebrations, organized by the Polish Safer Internet Program Center (PCPSI), which comprises the NASK National Research Institute and the Empowering Children Foundation. As the National Digital Operator, Poczta Polska promotes online safety.
The celebrations will begin with an online conference on February 8th at 5:00 PM. The event will be available on the dbi.pl website, as well as on the Facebook page and YouTube channel of the Polish Safer Internet Center – registration is not required. From February 9th to March 3rd, organizers invite you to a series of webinars for parents and teachers, as well as online lessons and performances for children (link).
As every year, schools, libraries, and other institutions across Poland are actively participating in the SID celebrations, as well as—most importantly—students who are submitting and implementing their own ideas for safe, active, and creative internet use. Over 3,000 initiatives have been submitted so far, and the number is growing daily. Submissions are open until the end of March. A map of the initiatives is available at https://www.saferinternet.pl/dbi/mapa-inicjatyw-dbi.html
The submitted initiatives will also participate in a competition, where the most interesting ones will receive awards. Prizes include a Samsung Flip interactive monitor, donated by Samsung, for first place, as well as a television, projector, and laptop for the next three initiatives, funded by the Orange Foundation. Thirty distinguished initiatives will also receive book packages by Łukasz Wojtasik: "Sieciaki. Mission: Safe Internet," as well as collectible book prizes funded by Poczta Polska. The selected class, which incorporates interesting theatrical forms into its initiative, will receive tickets to the performance "Almighty on the Net" at the invitation of SID Partner, Teatr Kamienica.
In October of last year, the Electronic Delivery Act came into force, establishing Poczta Polska as the operator for e-deliveries, which will be the digital equivalent of current registered letters. Electronic correspondence with public offices will begin replacing traditional correspondence starting in July of this year.
The Polish Post Office (Poczta Polska) is reporting numerous phishing scams in which criminals impersonate the Poczta Polska brand to obtain personal information and access to bank accounts. The national digital operator is warning customers against clicking on unknown links received via email or text message. Information about suspicious emails and text messages can be reported to jako@poczta-polska.pl.
