Poczta Polska is promoting recycling. Used batteries, small electronics, and household appliances can be brought to its branches.
Poczta Polska, in collaboration with MB Recycling and Terra Recycling, Elemental Group, is launching a pilot program for the collection of small electronics and household appliances. Special containers for e-waste will be installed in over 350 locations in the Masovian, Silesian, and Łódź Voivodeships. Committed to environmental initiatives, Poczta Polska will help customers dispose of e-waste responsibly, supporting environmental protection and the development of a circular economy..

The pilot is being conducted in post offices located in the following voivodeships:
- Masovian Voivodeship, including in Warsaw (52 branches), Piaseczno, Płock, Siedlce, Radom, Żyrardów and Ostrołęka;
- Silesian, including Katowice, Częstochowa, Sosnowiec, Gliwice, Rybnik, Bytom, Tychy, Chorzów and Zabrze;
- Łódź Voivodeship – Łódź (15 branches).
Specially marked containers are for small electronic waste items such as irons, electric kettles, routers, cell phones, watches, and electric toys. The eco-friendly cardboard containers include instructions on which devices can be disposed of. Used batteries, as before, are collected in separate containers, which have been located at post offices since 2015.
The project partners are responsible for maintaining the new household appliance containers. When the containers are full, facility staff will request emptying. Waste will be collected and transported to specialized recycling centers.
Environmental protection and customer convenience
E-waste contains both valuable raw materials and harmful substances that can negatively impact the environment. By helping customers dispose of this waste, first batteries and now household appliances, we contribute to environmental protection, support recycling, and sustainable development. All e-waste collected by companies like MB Recycling and Terra Recycling is processed. Valuable substances and materials are recovered: ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics. These raw materials are used in the production of new devices and products.
" Environmental responsibility is one of the pillars of our business. Expanding our offering to include the collection of small household appliances is a natural step in developing our pro-ecological services. This gives customers a real opportunity to care for the environment in a simple and convenient way – during their daily visits to our branches. We believe this project will generate significant interest and become another step in building a more environmentally friendly future ," emphasizes Piotr Szajczyk, Vice President of Sales at Poczta Polska.
E-waste bins at post offices allow customers to conveniently and responsibly dispose of e-waste that shouldn't be placed in regular garbage containers. They can also be delivered to specialized e-waste collection points or PSZOKs (Selective Municipal Waste Collection Points).
The project is being implemented as a pilot project. If the initiative, like the battery collection, proves highly popular with customers, Poczta Polska plans to install containers at other locations as well. We encourage people to fill the containers with e-waste from their homes.
