Poczta Polska accelerates the delivery of pensions in flood-affected areas
Pensions, scheduled for payment on September 20th, will be delivered to residents of flood-affected areas in Wrocław and the surrounding area starting September 18th, before the potential arrival of the Oder River flood wave. Poczta Polska is also making every effort to ensure that pensions are delivered on time in other flood-affected areas.
"In such an extreme situation as the one in southern Poland, saving lives and property comes first. However, it quickly becomes clear that access to cash is also essential. We want senior citizens at risk of flooding or already affected by the disaster to have access to it. That's why we've decided to advance pension payments. This process will begin in Wrocław and the surrounding area, and will also be implemented in other regions affected by flooding or its effects. We will make every effort to ensure the procedure is as quick as possible and involves only the necessary formalities," says Sebastian Mikosz, CEO of Poczta Polska.
Poczta Polska will attempt to communicate with each recipient of the money transfer through postmen. If, for example, due to evacuation, the recipient is not at home, the retiree will be able to collect the money at a convenient location, agreed upon with a Poczta Polska employee. If necessary, postmen will also attempt to deliver the pension after receiving a notification from the customer.
Wherever a problem with pension payments arises, Poczta Polska will contact crisis management teams. Pension payment points will also be set up at these centers, as needed. Poczta Polska employees, who know their customers well and enjoy a high level of public trust, will make every effort to ensure that pensions reach everyone as quickly as possible. The situation is dynamic, and Poczta Polska is constantly monitoring it and adapting its actions to current opportunities and local conditions.
The early payment of pensions is one of the initiatives Poczta Polska is undertaking to support those affected by or at risk of flooding. As with previous natural disasters, pandemics, and other emergencies that have struck Poland, the company is launching a range of initiatives to support affected residents. It is also participating in central and local aid initiatives (providing logistics and warehousing facilities) and collaborating with institutions (including the Government Security Center and the Social Insurance Institution).
