Poczta Polska is recruiting employees to handle customs clearance of parcels
New EU customs and tax regulations for shipments from outside the EU will come into effect on July 1, 2021. Recruitment is underway for staff to handle customs documentation for shipments.
Recruitment under the slogan: "Work with us and develop in customs services" has begun. It applies to Warsaw and Lublin. Previously, only postal workers could apply for customs services positions. However, in March, Poczta Polska also allowed candidates from outside the company to apply. The employer provides future employees with appropriate training and professional development within the Polish Post. The advantage of this position is the stability of employment in an important area of the company's operations.
On July 1, 2021, the so-called "VAT package for e-commerce" will come into effect, and Poczta Polska will take over the process of submitting electronic import customs declarations. This will make the company a "tax gateway" between the EU and countries beyond its borders, primarily China. Poczta Polska has commissioned its technology company, Poczta Polska Usługi Cyfrowe Sp. z o. o. (PPUC), to develop software for handling customs declarations for postal items. The company is developing the software necessary for settlements between Poczta Polska and the National Revenue Administration. Poczta Polska will also need qualified employees to implement the project of taking over customs functions.
The Polish Post's recruitment offer is aimed at candidates with a minimum secondary education, at least six months of professional experience—preferably in postal logistics—and familiarity with customs regulations and the collection of customs duties and taxes. This knowledge and skills can also be acquired through training. A command of written English at least at a basic level is highly recommended. The offer is directed at two levels: postal employees willing to retrain, as well as external candidates.
