Poczta Polska has started selling its autumn crop insurance offer.
Since September 21st of this year, the Company, in cooperation with the Postal Mutual Insurance Company, has been offering farmers insurance for: winter cereals such as wheat, barley, triticale, rye, rapeseed and turnip rape, winter vetch, plantings of fruit trees and shrubs, cereal mixtures, cereal-legume mixtures, and peas.
Crop insurance is subsidized from the state budget and is available in one of three variants:
- Basic Winter Package (hail, negative effects of overwintering, spring frosts);
- Winter Package (hail, negative effects of overwintering, spring frost, heavy rain, avalanche, landslide, hurricane, lightning);
- Winter Climate Package (hail, negative effects of overwintering, spring frost, heavy rain, avalanche, landslide, hurricane, lightning, flood, drought).
It is possible to supplement the above-mentioned variants with additional voluntary crop insurance against fire (applies only to crops: cereals, rapeseed, turnip rape and legumes).
By insuring crops and farm animals at Poczta Polska branches, farmers can benefit from a subsidy of up to 65% of the insurance premium from the state budget.
Since 2017, subsidized agricultural insurance policies have complemented the comprehensive offerings for farmers offered by the Postal Mutual Insurance Company (PTUW) network. Over 1,500 intermediaries nationwide sell PTUW products to farmers. Dynamic sales growth has been observed since 2017. In the fall of 2019, the highest product sales were recorded in the Warmian-Masurian, Masovian, and Greater Poland Voivodeships. This territorial trend continues. This spring, the company saw a 14-fold increase in sales compared to 2017, and 90% of customers who took out crop insurance in subsequent years remain with PTUW, indicating that customers are satisfied with both the partnership and the claims settlement process.
