Poczta Polska expands its cooperation with the Educational and Care Center in Skawina

On March 21st of this year, Poczta Polska (Polish Post) entered into an agreement with the Kraków County, the governing body of the Special Educational and Care Center in Skawina. The signing of the document will enable financial support for this unique educational facility, and consequently, the implementation of numerous development-oriented projects dedicated to its students. It is unique because it is the only facility in the country named after Poczta Polska (Polish Post).

The Special Educational Center in Skawina is a facility for children with intellectual disabilities and autism, including those with Asperger's syndrome, who are within the normal range of intellectual abilities. It also serves children with Down Syndrome, whose day is celebrated on March 21st. Since April 4, 1996, the Center has been named after the Polish Post Office, the only institution in Poland. The facility promotes its patron and the history of one of the oldest Polish companies, inextricably linked to the history of Poland. The Post Office supports projects implemented in Skawina.

The company organizes, among other things, supported internships at a nearby post office. At specially adapted stations, interns sort and organize letters and parcels, and observe customer service at the counter. This allows them to familiarize themselves with the job market, gaining specific skills and experience in the open labor market, not just in the sheltered employment market.

The financial support, symbolized by a check donated by the company's president, Krzysztof Falkowski, and vice-president, Andrzej Bodziony, will be used to organize activities for children: educational meetings and trips, competitions, and an integration picnic.

Poczta Polska also supports adults at risk of exclusion due to disability. Currently, the company employs approximately 1,830 individuals with disabilities, representing 2.79% of its total workforce. The employment rate for people with disabilities is steadily increasing. The company has also long had " Disability Employment Policy," which sets goals and directions for action and serves as a declaration of equal employment opportunities for individuals at risk of exclusion from the labor market. There is also a Disability Representative, responsible for, among other things, coordinating projects aimed at increasing the employment rate of people with disabilities at Poczta Polska.

The Polish Post Special Educational and Care Center in Skawina is the only special education facility run by the Krakow County. Through education, effective therapy, and nurturing care, it prepares children and youth with intellectual disabilities for life in society. The center comprises: Special Primary School No. 5, a Vocational First-Degree Special School, a Special School for Employment, and educational groups.
