Poczta Polska sells hundreds of newspaper titles. It also offers subscription and on-demand ordering services.
For many years, post offices have gone beyond simply handling postal or financial matters. They also offer a wide range of merchandise, including gifts, books, newspapers, and magazines. Poczta Polska offers nearly a thousand Polish-language press titles.
According to the Polish Readership Research 2023 report, 8 out of 10 people in Poland read print or digital press. It influences readers' views and decisions, and is enjoying growing popularity in Europe (trust in other media is declining).
Last year, over 300 million copies of printed newspapers were distributed in Poland. The popularity of print media is declining, but it is still chosen by over 45% of readers. These readers include people of all ages, but those aged 55–75 are most likely to read print. Younger people are more likely to choose electronic formats.
Poczta Polska is one of the leading distributors of newspapers in the Polish market. It sells nearly 1,000 press titles: 34 dailies (local and national) and 942 magazines (including opinion magazines, trade magazines, hobby magazines, television magazines, children's magazines, advice magazines, entertainment magazines, and women's magazines).
The three best-selling titles at post offices last year included "Tele Tydzień," "Życie na Gorąco," "Chwila dla Ciebie," and "Twoje Imperium." Customers also eagerly purchased "100 Rad," "Dobry Tydzień," "Rewia," culinary magazines (e.g., "Ciasta Domowe"), herbal magazines (e.g., "Zielarz," "Pokrzywa restauracja zdrowie"), educational magazines (e.g., "Victor," "Victor Junior," "Cogito"), health magazines (e.g., "Szlachetne zdrowie," "Zdrowie w Twoje człowieka"), and titles such as "Detective," "Wojsko i Technika," and "Poradnik 50+." Other publications related to TV programming, in addition to "Tele Tydzień," also sold well: "Kurier TV Magazine," "Super TV," and "Tele Max," as well as "Twoje Imperium," "Chwila dla Ciebie," "Z życia wzięte," "Świat Kobiet," "Przyjaciółka," "Auto Świat," "To i Owo," "Sukcesy i Porazki," "Poradnik Domowy," and "Angora." Poczta Polska customers also readily purchased "Gazeta Podatkowa," regional newspapers, and crossword puzzles.
Among the daily newspapers, the best-selling ones are "Fakt", "Echo Dnia" and "Gazeta Pomorska".
Specific post offices stock titles that are popular with readers in a given region. Poczta Polska also imports niche titles and archived press upon request. Some titles are sold at individual locations. Press can be found on dedicated stands and on counters at checkouts.
Press titles are available at all Poczta Polska (Polish Post) branches throughout Poland – in large cities, towns, and villages. In smaller towns, post offices are often the only place in the region where a wide selection of press titles and books is available.
In addition to purchasing newspapers at post offices, Poczta Polska also allows you to order subscriptions to press published in Poland, including specialist, popular science, entertainment, and hobby magazines. Most of these are available nationwide. The exception are titles offered regionally (local press). Subscription orders can be placed via the Poczta Polska website or directly with postmen and at post offices nationwide. Prepayments for magazines delivered by Poczta Polska from the second quarter, i.e., April 1, are accepted until February 25th of this year via the website and until the end of February via postmen and at post offices.
