Poczta Polska is a signatory to a declaration supporting the development of a socially integrative labor market

On May 10th of this year, Poczta Polska signed a declaration of a cross-sectoral partnership aimed at significantly increasing the employment of people with disabilities. The company is a leader in employing people with disabilities in the open labor market. For years, it has undertaken numerous initiatives to promote the professional activation of people with disabilities and promotes diversity in the workplace and its positive impact on company development and an inclusive organizational culture.

The partnership declaration was signed by over 20 entities – companies and organizations – operating in the open labor market, across various industries and economic sectors. They thus committed to supporting the implementation of several specific goals related to an equal and bias-free labor market. These include, among others, the continued support and promotion of employment for people with disabilities and the pursuit of increasing the employment rate of people with disabilities in Poland to 40% by 2030. Other provisions of the agreement address the sharing of good practices, supporting research to identify significant barriers and opportunities in the professional activation of people with disabilities, developing recommendations for public policies in the area of disability activation and the labor market, and creating platforms for cooperation between individual partners to implement specific projects and initiatives.

The Inclu(vi)sion partnership was conceived and initiated by the Activation Foundation, which has been involved in the education and professional activation of people with disabilities for over 30 years. It was officially launched during the "Inclu(vi)sion: A New Vision of an Open Labor Market for People with Disabilities" Congress, during which representatives from various sectors (HR, business, administration, and NGOs) discussed the employment of people with disabilities and the implementation and promotion of inclusive policies. Participants also discussed labor market trends, sustainable business development, diversity, and the design of accessible and inclusive recruitment and hiring processes.

Poczta Polska currently employs 1,862 people with disabilities, representing 2.79% of the company's total workforce. In some voivodeships, this figure already exceeds 7%, exceeding the employment rate expected by the State Fund for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons (PFRON). The company recorded the most dynamic growth in employment for people with disabilities between 2018 and 2021, implementing the "Work-Integration" project in collaboration with PFRON and the Activation Foundation. During that time, it employed an additional 400 people with disabilities.

People with disabilities work in various positions – in post offices, sorting offices, and administration. Since 2018, the Company has also implemented a "Policy for the Employment of People with Disabilities."

Research provided by the Activation Foundation shows that 32% of people with disabilities are currently employed in Poland, compared to 50% in the European Union. They are often employed in positions with limited opportunities for professional development and advancement (e.g., cleaning, security, and simple office work), and their education and skills are not taken into account.
